Fernando is extremely kind and a great host! He is a natural teacher, we got to learn about plants, fruits, vegetables and other important information about farming. We discussed Ecuadorian politics and culture, zen meditation and he was very helpful with learning Spanish. The living conditions were not the cleanest , but you have a private room and bathroom. Be prepared for lots of bugs, so make sure you bring lots of bug spray and long clothing to cover your skin when working. Fernando goes to Quito often, which is very nice because he is kind enough to give you rides to and from Quito.
