Beautiful natural scenery, beyond friendly hosts, and much to learn!! 💕 I definitely recommend having fairly strong spanish language skills, and bring an extra pillow as the beds aren't the most comfortable. Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short due to a family emergency, but I felt very welcomed and enjoyed my time at the hostel :)

The experience at the hostel was cool, I learned a lot of skills because there was a lot of responsibility given to the volunteers. Checking people in, folding laundry, cleaning the kitchen, and generally being responsible for running the hostel during your five hour shift, which could be hectic at times but also chill at other times. I was meeting travelers from all around the world, and some were friendlier than others. The staff is friendly and helpful but didn't make a lot of effort to get to know me personally. I learned more Spanish and connected with other volunteers.

Alex is a great boss, and Oscar always made me feel very welcome. I struggled at first, but I think that's because sometimes understanding Spanish is difficult for me. Alex and Oscar create good staff and volunteer culture, especially by hosting our group lunch everyday. I recommend future volunteers have strong Spanish-speaking skills.

I had a amazing time in the hostel and La fortuna. Alex, Oscar and other volunteers were super friendly and welcome. The job was super easy and I had a lot of time to know la fortuna and chilling. I'm gonna miss you guys and Nala Patrícia. Everything makes me feel like be in home <3

My experience at the hostel was amazing. Alex and Oscar are the nicest people you will ever meet and will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. I loved sharing meals together and feeling like a family! The work is very simple and easy. You will have more than enough time to enjoy everything la fortuna has to offer. Im leaving with lifelong friends and unforgettable memories.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel. I think Alex and Oscar are amazing hosts! They are very welcoming, kind, fun and understanding. Working at the reception was really fun, I met so many amazing travellers and I had loads of fun every day and really enjoyed my shift. I recommend this experience to everyone :) Thank you Alex & Oscar <3

Tive um tempo maravilhoso em La Fortuna e no hostel Hostal! Alex e Oscar são muito amáveis, inteligentes, divertidos e me fizeram sentir muito bem com tudo, desde a acomodação até o trabalho a ser realizado. As tarefas são simples e pude praticar meu espanhol e inglês a todo tempo. Durante o tempo que estive lá eles e outros locais se tornaram bons amigos e assim pude conhecer mais sobre a cultura de Costa Rica. Sou muito grata por ter vivido essa experiência. Recomendo 100%! Awesome experience! My time in the hostel was perfect. I had the opportunity of making real new friends there. The environment is beautiful and the work tasks are easy. Workers build a great team together and the owner is super nice!! Super recommended!!

Minha experiência no hostel foi incrível. Alex e Oscar são anfitriões muito bons. Ao chegar, Alex me explicou as tarefas detalhamente, sem deixar dúvidas. Os horários foram respeitados e as tarefas são leves. Além disso pude treinar inglês e espanhol o tempo todo. no hostel você se sente em casa! Super recomendo
