The winery was a great experience 🌻 I assisted with various harvest activities & the actual harvest , some cider bottling and apple picking. Gill, James and Bella make you feel very welcome and care that you have everything you need, they are very wonderful, kind and chill, I thank them both for allowing me the opportunity to experience what life on a the winery is like🌻 Around this time of year the weather can be very gusty windy and rainy but there are Wonderful sunny days sometimes, you can get to Wells station by bike or45 min walk as the minibus to wells can be a little sparse

Gill and James made me feel at home right from the beginning. I have had lots of interesting conversations with them and we shared lots of laughs. The food was delicious, especially the basil pesto that Gill always made. Bella was a lovely dog who welcomed me when I first got there. The tasks varied from working in the winery to painting a shed, so it was great to have a variety of different things to do there. I would really recommend spending some time with them!

I stayed with Gill and James for ten days at the end of July. The work was a mixture of working in the winery and then doing some painting of the house. It was decent physical effort but it was great being outside all day and you finish by lunch so the whole afternoon was free to relax or explore the area. James and Gill were amazing hosts, we had some great conversations about wine, Somerset and so much more. The food was amazing and seemingly endless too and Bella is such a cutie. Would absolutely recommend to anyone

We had a truly wonderful stay at the winery! From the moment we arrived, Gill and James went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to feel completely at home. Their attention to kindness and genuineness made our experience very special. They were always available, thoughtful, and ready to help with anything, lovely hosts in every sense. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming, and we left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and very well looked after, although there was a lot work to do! Highly recommended!

The days we spent with Gill, James and Bella were very special and will always be in our hearts. It was a wonderful experience, we learned new skills and it was interesting to learn how a winery works. James taught us calmly and clearly what should be done and encouraged us at all times. Gill was very welcoming, just like James, always concerned about whether we were well. During meals, there were very fun and friendly moments. Bella was love at first sight for me, we went for walks several times and she was an excellent guide to show us the whole neighborhood and its beautiful fields.Thanks

Wow, how happy we were in this place 🥹. I already miss every day, every moment with Gill, James and Bella 🐶 The tasks were different and this enriched our experience. We learned a lot about the winery and loved this project as if it were our own project 🥰. Dinner time was full of laughter (James may seem serious, but he is the funniest 🙃). Gill is kind, loving and smiling and they were very patient with my bad English 🙌🏽. I recommend this volunteering to everyone who really wants to help with love and respect for this place and , they are special people 💙🩷. We will be back!

My experience at the winery with Gill, James, and their lovely dog Bella was very pleasant. They welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home from day one. For three weeks, our work consisted of pruning the vines, as it was the season for it. Although repetitive, it was a rewarding task in a beautiful setting. We also had the chance to spend some days with their daughter Katherine, who was very kind. And I can't forget to mention their curries and apple crumbles, they were absolutely delicious!

My friend Annette and I volunteered at a the winery, where Gill and her husband, James, welcomed us warmly, making us feel at home. Their lovely dog, Bella, often joined us while pruning, making our days even better. Gill's kindness and humour made every moment special, and her curry dishes transported us to India. Both she and James were always attentive to our needs. It was an enriching experience, filled with laughter, learning, and the warmth of wonderful people.

I stayed with Gill and James for 8 weeks from mid August until mid October. They truly try to make you feel welcome and at home right away, the food is delicious and Bella is the sweetest dog ever! Although the work can be very hard physical labour at times, it's nothing that isn't manageable. You might wanna be aware of the fact that during harvest times, the working hours can be quite long, so the workload can be more than what it states in the profile. The nature around the winery is gorgeous and I took many beautiful walks all around the fields :)

I had a wonderful time at the winery, and cannot speak highly enough about the experience. Gill and James your incredible warm and welcoming host, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The work was engaging and hands on allowing me to gain valuable and practical knowledge about the winery operations and winemaking. I learnt so much during my stay and I am truely grateful for the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the industry in such an immersive way. I would highly recommend this experience.
