My time at the hostel was very good. I recommend it for everyone who wants to find a volenteering experience to explore Tarifa! If thats your plan then you will be in good hands at the family hostel. Emilia and of course the dog Chico are very friendly and you will have a good time. The working hours were respected and you have everything that you need here. I recommend 👌

Sadly my experience was worst than what I expected. To begin, I was never told that I would be living in Emilia's house (a 2 bedroom apartment and 1 bathroom) with other 7 people. The accommodation for the volunteers were uncomfortable, no fan (on European summer), we didn't even have a light on the bedroom. Emilia and her sister used to smoke cigarettes inside. My bed was literally touching her bedroom window and every morning at 6am I woke up with cigarette smell. The hotel doesn't have any staff room, all the cleaning was on the volunteers. We didn't work at all in the bar.

I had an amazing time here thanks to Emilia's spontaneity and my encounters. I however felt girls were more easily directed to cleaning tasks. I would have appreciated beeing asked if I want to do breakfasts or reception as mentionned in the description here. You will have a good time here, but make it clear or proactively ask Emilia if you want to do different tasks. I am sure she'll arrange it.

Emilia and his two sons were something special! Helpfull, welcoming and we shared most of our daily life together! There is a dog, Chico, which is another star of the house! The shift were respected and the days off as well. I would totally recomend it, and who knows that I would do ir again!

Esta fue una experiencia marvillosa 🍀 I had the chance to practice Spanish and to be a part of a local culture, which was something I came for and it was absolutely worth it. Accomodation was comfortable, working hours were respected, everything was done by all of us working as a team (which I loved) - Emilia was there to support and work with us in every possible way! I'm super grateful for all of the amazing people that I had a chance to meet! Gracias por todo ❤️ Warm recommendation ✨

Marija ha sido una chica encantadora, proactiva, puntual, esforzándose con el español y al final podíamos comunicarnos estupendamente, siempre con una sonrisa, haciendo varias tareas, involucrada en la cafetería súper atenta con los clientes, muy buen rollo con el resto de voluntariados.
Recomendable 100%.
Se me olvidó poner tu reseña, lo siento pero eres un cinco estrellas.

My experience in the inn was very good,I spent 1 month,the tasks are fair also i enjoy the work in the cafeteria :),so you will have a lot of time to enjoy Tarifa, Emilia it's nice hosts,she has also lovely dog chiko,I recommend this place! :)

Emilia is an amazing host! I enjoyed my stay a lot, she was nice, fun and patient with my imperfect spanish skills🤍 The hostel is lovely, the place where the volunteers stay as well. I can definitely recommend!

Emilia es la más maja!! Tarifa è bellissima e il lavoro è abbastanza semplice da imparare, l'accoglienza della casa è stata fantastica così come quella dei colleghi al lavoro. L'unica cosa che non ha specificato la proprietaria è che c'è da dividere l'appartamento col suo cane che non necessariamente può piacere a tutti, inoltre non c'è né Wi-Fi né copertura a casa e la lavatrice è da fare a circa 12 minuti di distanza perché il luogo di lavoro non è quello dove si dorme. In generale però, è stata una bellissima esperienza!

Chiara es una chica siempre con una sonrisa con mucho carácter y mucha energía dispuesta a aprender. Su feedback nos vino muy bien para seguir aprendiendo y mejorando el trabajo en equipo. 100% recomendable.

I had a wonderful time in Tarifa. Emilia, Bea and Ale are great people and I liked to work with them. The work I had to do was easy. Most of the time I was doing the beds and sometimes taking care of the cafetería. As for the cafetería the tasks were little explained and I would have liked a better introduction. And keep in mind, that you don't live in the hotel and sometimes have to take care of the dog, which ist living in the apartment. But overall I'm really grateful for my experience at the inn, especially because I had the best time with the other volunteers.
