Community Lifestyle Project/ Urban Villa Transformation into Eco

I can describe this experience through the words: learning - friendship and community. the community experience helped me develop my communication skills and I experienced for first time living in community (which is not always easy, but is always worthy). In this place you get to know people from all over the world and try different kinds of works related to the sustainability of the villa. The accommodation is quite comfortable and you have all the basics covered by the hosts and even more. However, is important to keep in mind that the rewards you get are equal to the hard work you do.

My experience at Villa Kokkinaki was absolutely lovely ! The place itself is beautiful and the people we met were just as amazing. I was very immersed in the culture , from learning Greek dancing , wild oregano picking to eating delicious local Greek food. If you are willing to work hard , the rewards are definitely worth it! I got to paint which is something I really enjoy alongside gardening and working in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this experience to others and am very grateful to Alex and Pam for their love and kindness that they showed.

The community is a place that I strongly reccomend! If you are willing to work hard, multitask, learn new things and share your knowledge.. that's your place! :) We have connected very well with the group and we made lots of things together. People were amazing! Alex, Pam and Mike were amazing hosts and I felt home. The place is really beautiful and with a big sense of community! Having meals together, sharing duties, helping each other. We had the chance also to go to a Greek festival and have Greek dance lessons! Thank you all again! I've learned a lot! Love you all!

Being here was a great experience. We had the chance to share our volunteer work with 14 people in some period, and that was amazing, because everyone was from different part of the world, so that definitely enhanced our stay here. Once we had the chance to go to a traditional party in a village and that was one of the best experience that I've had (Thanks Alex for this). Living in community was also a nice experience, because you have the possibility to learn from different people and cultures, and that is something that intensify your experience. I'm so proud of this life experience.

My experience in Megalopolis was full of learning and fun moments, I got to really experience community living at its fullest , always having an open and safe environment to be my true self. Made some of the best friendships, and got to know myself a little bit better, learned so many new skills that I will take with me my all life. I am grateful to Alexandros for opening up this community to everyone and for all of the amazing moments I shared with all the volunteers I came across.

I loved my experience at Villa Kokkinaki. It was exactly the hand work I was looking for (I could work with wood building a closet and in gardening). I really appreciate the autonomy that Alex gives to everyone. I was also very lucky to find this place that I could play tennis in my trip. At last, people there really skin the sense of community.

I think the main purpose of my experience with the community project was to get to know the other volunteers who were there and to connect with them. Unfortunately, miscommunication was one of the reasons that made the experience so complicated for me and the other volunteers, starting with the fact that the host didn't know who posted information on the platform, such as surf lessons or yoga. The project has no sustainable objectives and I felt cheated. Sometimes I and other volunteers felt uncomfortable. The place is nice, but unfortunately it doesn't live up to what it says on the platform

It’s very sad to read that you felt cheated by our description. The project starts by a fair exchange of roof, food and group of people to connect and interact in return of 5hrs per day work.
You had a private room for 5 out 7 days, the best food to ever probably be shared in any other place in the world and about people to meet, more than 15 volunteers from all around the world!!!
Now consider if you worked your 5 hrs or even close to that.
Also consider if you asked or mentioned that you are available for any activity during your short stay. Yoga me Surf can happen upon communication but that’s not the reason we come here. That’s something that occurs after everything have worked out!

If you are a young girl, I do not recommend this place.

That feedback is actually very mean!
Our home welcomes volunteers from everywhere, of all ages or cultures since 2015. Some have been incredible people and others not so much while others have benefited to the maximum from our offer while others didn’t feel much about it. It all depends on the openness of each participant to bring his best self and help how he can do best.
You unfortunately didn’t do much in terms of fair exchange not to mention that everyday you had a chance to describe anything you see for improvement but you apparently preferred gossiping in cliques.
That is not what happens here and probably not good to happen anywhere else.
Also I would like to mention that while you were here you asked us to extend your stay more and we refused. We did that because you were not a positive participant.
