I absolutely loved my time in Antigua. It's a beautiful city and volunteering at the host gives you the perfect opportunity to experience as much of it as you want. The shifts are short and flexible, meaning you have plenty of time to explore or even take Spanish lessons on the side. Kelsey is also a super kind, considerate host with an amazing energy about her. Having the opportunity to hike the volcano with the host was also a huge added bonus. The only thing to note is that the accommodation rly is very humble but as long as you're not too picky it should be fine.

I had a decent time volunteering with the host. The volunteers I worked with were amazing, and it's true that the people really do make the experience memorable. The accommodations, though, left much to be desired — especially the shower. While the living situation was less than ideal, I enjoyed the light workload and appreciated the opportunity to go on multiple tours. Even with the ups and downs, l'd recommend it for anyone who values meeting great people over accommodations.

The first day that I arrived, I knew my accommodation would be humbling, that I was most certainly prepared for. But the experience I had I was not. My stay at the host was horrendous. Our bathrooms and rooms where filled with black mold to the point that every time I took a shower my lungs would start to hurt. After bringing this problem up to the host I was told “maybe you shouldn't stay in the shower for to long”. As well as “ what do you expect this is Guatemala. I have had that happen in my place before. S**t just happens”.Bugs and fungus flys were all over the bed. - TERRIBLE stay .

Interesting. You complained so I happily told you to move beds. WHILE NO ONE ELSE(6 other volunteers!) said there were bugs anywhere JUST you. Additionally it rains in Guatemala for 6 months straight, water damage(NOT BLACK MOLD) is normal. WE PAINTED EVERYTHING THE NEXT DAY. YET you continued to make excuses about how you couldn't work and were suffering. THEN you got $100 tour FREE and EVEN the guide said you were complaining and not understanding simple directions the ENTIRE time. You are not made out for volunteering at all, your work ethic was non existent and it's volunteers like you that ruin the experience for everyone else including Hosts. My experience with you was horrendous. TERRIBLE Volunteer.

I really enjoyed my stay at the host. The volunteering is very good, and the tasks are easy to carry out. Every week we receive a shift schedule, all tasks are well organized, and the schedules are respected. If you're working remotely, like me, Kelsey is willing to talk and arrange the best times for both sides. The facilities are very simple but have everything you need, and keeping the spaces clean is part of the volunteers' duties, so cleanliness depends on everyone there. Overall, I really liked my experience, and I made friends that I will carry with me forever.

This was an amazing opportunity. The work is easy and doesn't take long at all so you have most of your day to do things. Kelsey is always around to chat if needed and is very flexible with the schedule. The accommodation is very basic and all cleaning is the volunteers' responsibility so cleanliness can depend on who else is there at the same time as you. The volcano hikes were unforgettable and really made this experience worth it!

Kelsey is an amazing host and manager to the place. As all volunteers sleep on the premises, there is a nice, relaxed community vibe. The tasks are simple. In the beginning the shifts were a little messy as they were in the process of being adjusted. It could also be that hours and shifts differ a bit if there are not enough volunteers at that moment so I'd recommend to clarify it all when you get there. Though now it should all be more smooth and working well. Generally, hours and tasks are as agreed and you'll have the best time hiking the volcanos!

I absolutely love my experience at the host. You'll have plenty of time to visit Antigua, which is in the top adorable city I've visited and volunteering is well explained. People are super welcoming and I felt like home as soon as I arrived🫶 As a solo female traveler, I never felt threatened and always really felt confortable . It's an awesome place to connect with nature, to practice your spanish and to meet lovely people. Rooms are comfortable and we have a lovely shared space that was decorated by other volunteers which makes the place really cozy. Would recommend this volunteer a 100%!

I had an amazing time volunteering at the host! Both the staff and the other volunteers welcomed me with open arms. The tasks are easy and generally take about 1-2h a day so I had plenty of time to explore the beautiful town of Antigua and go on hikes. I'd love to go back at some point, thank you to everyone who made this experience so special :) I 100% recommend the host, if you're thinking of applying you totally should!

I really loved my stay at the host & I definitely recommend applying to this position!! The work is really easy & you have plenty of free time to explore Antigua. Antigua itself is a nice location to spend a longer period of time as there's a lot to do and multiple rooftop cafes to chill at. The volunteers have their own space with a patio, a well equipped kitchen and their rooms. Everyone at the host is really nice! The guides, the other volunteers but also Kelsey made me feel welcomed & I'd love to come back at some point!! Definitely apply! :)
