Our first experience as volunteers in the Hostel barbarrosa was VERY COOL ! The Hostel is very cool and fun, people from all over the world come to the Hostel and they are all very friendly! The tasks are easy so you can enjoy the city the rest of the time, we looked for a job in the city and it was great! Joep is very nice, he helps us with everything we need. 100% recommendable!!! We are also improving our English which is one of the reasons why where started this experience! We are very happy

I had an amazing experience with the hostel and the host, Joep! The workload is very reasonable; it is either a cleaning shift in the morning or a reception shift in the evening. He is flexible with which days off you have and truly wants you to have a good experience during your stay in and outside of the hostel. Though Joep is not always at the hostel, he is always reachable by text or phone. Nijmegen is beautiful and has so much to offer. The hostel is very central so everything is in a walk-able distance. It was also a great opportunity to meet locals and travellers alike!

Joep is a very kind, generous & fair person! He was organized and clear about tasks & schedules. He did everything in his power to accommodate for preferred shifts, days off & was very helpful to me when I had an unexpected unfortunate situation occur & I am very grateful for that! I got lucky with the majority of the volunteers, they were fun & kind & we all spoke Spanish hence why my Spanish improved! The volunteers also have their own room which had 5-6 of us in 1 room. It was a bit tight, but for the most part everyone was in there at different times! Overall, this was a great experience!

The hostel is in the best location in town. Close to everything! Joep is a wonderful person and always makes the volunteers feel good. He is a wonderful host! An incredible human. The work is easy and most of the time we finish early. The city is very beautiful, the train and bus station are close by, making it easy to go to visit other cities, like Amsterdam. The volunteers have bikes available to ride around the city. I definitely recommend the hostel.

Joep is an amazing host, he always take care of the volunteers and give recommendations of what to do an see. Nijmegen is a beautiful city and there is always something going on. I had an amazing time in the hostel !

O hostel e Nijmegen foi uma surpresa mais do que surpreendente. A cidade e linda e acochegante. Joep e uma pessoa maravilhosa com um coracao de pai. Se preocupa muito com o nosso bem estar, esta sempre querendo saber se estamos bem, promove encontro entre nos para que possamos nos unir e nos conhecer melhor, fui presenteada para cuidar do jardim. Fiz com muito amor. Joep vem melhorando o hostel, para atender melhor os hospedes e os voluntarios. Amei esse lugar, amei o carinho do Joep conosco sem preferencias. Acho que todos deveriam viver essa experiencia.

This experience was awesome! It was perfect to learn about the hostel industry, it was great to meet new people from all around the world and the city is great! Super chill and filled with nice people! The work load is fair, even though on the weekends it could get crazy!😂😂 Joep, the host, was a great mentor, he cares about volunteers and is really understanding on every way! Really recommend this experience!

Nijmegen is a great place to be with a lot of stuff to do and you can visit other places aswell. I've met amazing people during this experience. I had a good time in Nijmegen ! The hostel is nice and the city as well. It's freshly open and Joep is open to improvements to make the guests and volunteers have the best experience possible. He welcomed us really well, made sure we were always fine and was available. I've met good people and had an amazing stay. Thank you Joep, wish you all the best :)
