Volunteering near the Castles of the Loire Valley

I could only stay for 11 days, but thanks to Vincent and Sylvain I made the most of it. Workwise, is really easy to catch up on how everything works, and if you're a social person you end up enjoying a lot all the breakfast with guests. In the few days I got to spend here, Vincent made sure that I visited all the famous castles around, and I got to ride an electric bike to get to all those castles, just a great experience. The room is big and private and the "maison d'hôtes" in general is amazing, just so beautiful and peaceful.

It's difficult to explain just how positive this experience at the guest house was in such few words. Vincent and Sylvain are some of the most hospitable people I've ever met, they made me feel right at home. The accommodations are well above my past experiences volunteering. The work is well structured and there is space to be independent. We visited many châteaux, markets and fairs. They also taught me so much about French culture, language, music, and gastronomy. I grew a lot as a person here in such a short time, it's truly an enriching experience. Merci pour ce merveilleux séjour!

Amazing first experience!! they made me feel at home on first day. its like they invited you into their home instead of volunteering . They are very considerate and thoughtful. most of the tasks is based on housekeeping . vincent will always do most of the other job like cooking, laundry, and serving. i learned a lot from them because they are very productive and competent . They are very open when discussing about their culture, lifestyle and businesses . As i am very curious, I always asked vincent about his opinions and he is always answer it. They are like family you never had.

Mon séjour au the guest house Julanvillerie a été une excellente première expérience de volontariat. Les tâches étaient simples et peu exigeantes, Vincent était clair sur la façon dont je pouvais aider dans les chambres et le gîte. Au début, la communication était un peu difficile, mais j'ai beaucoup appris sur la culture française et j'ai eu l'opportunité de passer du temps avec Vincent et Sylvain qui m'ont aidé à améliorer mon français tout en me faisant découvrir leur culture. La propriété est incroyable, et Oona et Osasis sont les vrais patrons de l'endroit. Merci pour leur hospitalité!

Vincent and Sylvain are warm and generous hosts. They are enthusiastic about sharing their culture and always offered to include me in their plans to meet with locals and see more of the area. On bike, it is very easy to get around, and Vincent has all the best routes to avoid cars and, importantly, get the best view of the stunning Loire! the guest house, or “Home” as anyone staying there will quickly call it, is a stunning environment with lots of space to explore, go for walks, take a dip in the pool, or just sit and soak up the sun! The work is not difficult so afternoons are always off

Zein is a reliable and good listener.
He was a great help to us during his stay at the house, both in the upkeep of the rooms and in the preparation of table d'hôtes meals.
It was an enriching encounter and a good time spent together. Thank you Zein for these 3 weeks spent together 🙂

Great place, with fun people, and a beautiful experience. I wanna thank Vincent and Sylvan for showing me around and always making me part of their (super fun) plans. Felt almost immediately at ease once there. They are always very respectful. The place is great, in the middle of nature, and there is a small pond-like swimming pool where you can refresh yourself when it's hot outside. Super clean place, with a private room for yourself. I'll be back in the future for another glass of wine with the hosts and to play around with the 2 doggies, Oona and Oasis (the actual owners of the place) <3

This was my first experience with worldpackers and it was exactly what I needed! The location is peaceful and a beautiful place, where you can always hear the birds sing. The work in itself is very well explained by Vincent. The help that I gave was mainly in 2 things: preparing the breakfast and preparing the rooms (making beds, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning the dust and vacuuming). This was all done in the morning, leaving me with free afternoons! I had access to bikes to explore around and the nearest castle/coffee place/grocery store was fine by foot. To sum it up: it was worth it! :)

The guest house a été ma première expérience avec WorldPackers et je suis satisfaite. Vincent et Sylvain sont très gentils, leurs chiens et leur chat sont trop mignons, la maison est super jolie, la chambre confortable et le travail n'est pas épuisant. En général, j'ai travaillé plus le matin et après je suis restée plus ou moin disponible l'après-midi, sauf quand j'avais besoin de travailler dans mon travail en ligne. C'est un lieu un peu isolé, mais si vous aimez la nature, la tranquillité et faire du vélo, ça sera un bon match. Pour moi, ça n'est pas un problème.. Merci Vincent et Sylvain

Hello. Patricia a été très efficace et utile au travail malgré une certaine nonchalance à la fois toute brésilienne et charmante ! Elle parle très bien le français ce qui nous a permis d'avoir des échanges et débats passionnants sur nos différentes cultures.

Je recommande bien sûr Patricia pour de nouvelles aventures.
