Heyner speaks a good amount of English but I would definitely recommend knowing Spanish. Jenny cooks 3 meals a day and they are always fabulous. Heyner and his family are extremely giving and sweet, we even enjoyed karaoke with them once or twice. You do have a lot of free time as work was done in the morning for 2 hours and later around 5 o'clock for two hours with the rest being free time. It's a great way to immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture and meet other travelers who are staying at the lodge from all over! Great experience for all!

I had an amazing time, it's a great opportunity to get involved in the local culture, learn about farming and gardening life. And the meals that Yenny cooks are incredible!

I had an amazing time at the farm. Heyner and Jenny are so kind and welcoming, he has lots of stories and she cooks really delicious food. The tasks are mostly helping with the cows and goats; feed them, give them water, move them around. You do not work in the middle of the day, as it is very hot, only in the morning and anfternoon. There is no shop nearby, so I recommend to bring snacks if you need, and you have a lot of free time, so bring a good book. You have a privat room. Spanish is not a must as Heyner speaks english, but it helps to know a couple of words. Def recommend the farm!
