I had a wonderful experience at the project. The workload was reasonable and flexible, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the island and connect with other international travelers—I made great friends during my stay. Syros is quieter in September, but the hosts encouraged weekend island-hopping, which was a fantastic way to see more of Greece. Lito and Marina were present every day, attentive to every need, and made us feel truly welcome. The beaches were stunning, and overall, it was a fun, unforgettable, enriching, and rewarding experience.

This volunteering experience was my first ever on world packers, and it was a great place to start! The team are lovely and you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. All volunteering hours are strictly followed, and you have plenty of free time to explore the island. Going in April, the island is quiet, and so it is a very relaxed and calm atmosphere that I used to explore, journal and read. I also spent free time exploring other islands such as Mykonos and Tinos, which was very easy from Syros Port. I loved enjoying the island and contributing to its sustainability at the same time. ❤️

Since I was the only volunteer, it was pretty quiet on the base, but overall, I had a great experience! It was so great to explore & get to know the community on this amazing island & cooperative!

The marketing program was a great experience and I got to practice content creation. There's a lot of flexibility to take the program in whatever direction you want, aligned with your skills and interest. The workload is essentially whatever you make of it, with work hours generally being 3 days a week from 9 to 2 The team was lovely and welcoming :) The accommodation was conveniently located and nice. You really get to experience life on a small Greek island and meet locals. Syros is gorgeous but you can island hop too! I highly recommend & would even say book more than 2 weeks if you can

This is an experience I will always appreciate. The team is very open, welcoming, friendly, and adaptable. I was truly able to immerse in Greek culture not typically accessible from a normal vacation to Greece, and I will cherish though memories. It's been a joy working with them team and contributing to helping them with needed items. If you are debating to do this experience, I say go for it. This island is truly a beautiful island that is close to other island which makes it easy to explore. Working then going to the beach after is such a treat.

It was a great and very learning experience, everyone from the host was lovely and friendly and the work I did in Environmental Policy and Law was the perfect position that matched my interests and study area, nevertheless Syros Island is stunning and beaches are amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing experience! The hosts were extremely welcoming, the house where you stay is adorable, close to the center of town and the island is beautiful. The farm program was an amazing opportunity to see another part of the island, learn firsthand about harvesting and immerse yourself into the local community. The farmers are very welcoming and even gave us free produce at the end of each shift which was SO GOOD. Syros is a quieter island but there are still many things to do if you look. It was also really great to be able to meet other volunteers to hang out with on the free time.

The host is a wonderful environment to volunteer! The structure is respected, the people are kind and welcoming, and the living space is cute and cozy. I volunteered on the farm, and while it was only weeding season I loved connecting with people there and getting my hands dirty! In general, having time to connect and spend time exploring with the other volunteers was one of my favorite aspects! The island of Syros is gorgeous with a lively town and beautiful beaches! I would recommend this opportunity!

A equipe é muito acolhedora, o projeto é inspirador e a experiência é incrível. O trabalho é flexível, as meninas estão sempre abertas para conversa e as atividades são bem definidas. O lugar é super aconchegante e a ilha é linda, tranquila e segura. Recomendo muito a experiência e voltaria com certeza.

I had such a wonderful experience with the host team, they were all so welcoming and kind! The work was completely manageable and respected. I worked in the plastic lab mainly and it was very interesting. The accommodations were great and they gave recommendations for what to do on the Island as well as others to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 weeks there Syros is beautiful and Ermoupolis is very safe, it was lovely to explore the island! Please do this opportunity if you can! Thank you to the team for everything!!
