Help with renovation projects in Buddhist centre near Berlin

Pasé 4 semanas en el centro, un centro de meditación budista en medio del bosque, y fue una experiencia hermosa. El lugar es increíble y la gente súper cálida; desde el primer momento me sentí como en familia. Colaboré en el jardín y también restaurando ventanas antiguas. Fueron tareas de mucho trabajo, hechas con cuidado, que me conectaron mucho con el entorno y con el espíritu del lugar y las considero como mditativas. Participé de algunas actividades budistas que fueron muy enriquecedoras, incluso para quienes no practicamos. La comida es riquísima y conocí voluntarios muy amorosos.

Las tareas varían cada día y tienes dos "tea break" lo cual es genial para sentir amena la jornada. Trabajar con Alex y Namnyi fue muy relajado y agradable, es un buen equipo. El lugar donde duermes es muy grande y cómodo, no sirve el WiFi en el cuarto pero puedes usar el café o el comedor. Las instalaciones son muy grandes y limpias. Esta alejado de casi todo pero puedes usar las bicis para salir, si tomas bus a dos horas de Berlín. El equipo es muy divertido, es acogedor cenar todos juntos tomando el sol o los viernes de reunión. Necesitan más voluntarios, hay mucho por hacer 💪🏻✨

El centro fue mi primer voluntariado y tuve una gran experiencia, todo el equipo del centro es muy amable y respetuoso, los baños y recámaras están limpios, la comida es deliciosa (es vegana/vegetariana), todos nos sentamos en la misma mesa a la hora de comer y las actividades son muy fáciles, entre horas “de trabajo” hay tea breaks que hacen la jornada mucho menos pesada. Conocí a voluntarios de todo el mundo, aprendí mucho, pero sobre todo aprendí de mi misma. Totally recommend, thanks to el centro team but especially to Hank…she's the best boss 🙏🏻💞

Fueron dos semanas de trabajo físico un poco intenso de lunes a viernes de 9:09 a 17:00, pero teníamos receso de media hora y también una hora para comer. En mi caso fue colaborar pintando completamente algunas habitaciones y pasillos. Si acaso lo único que no me agrado es que el lugar está alejado de todo, pero si se busca tranquilidad ahí es el lugar ideal. Ah y la comida es vegetariana que no es mi tipo de comida pero cocinaban muy bien

The residents were super kind and interesting to talk to. The meals tasty and plentiful. The surroundings and buildings are amazing. Had the chance to join the prayers and classes. The jobs was mostly house work (ordering, cleaning) and handyman projects (fixing, painting, digging). The responsibilities were clear and they offered flexibility. It was HARD work! The hours where longer that expected, since lunch (1hr) and breaks (2x30mins) are not included. Not as easy as I expected to go to Berlin and back, used my days off for it. Grateful and happy I had this experience <3

My experience at the Center was perfect, everybody was so kind and helpful, the tasks were easy and fun, the acommodation is very comfortable and the meals were fantastic, I would totally recommend to anyone who wants to have a great voluteering experience and learn more about buddhism.

My experience at the Center was beyond amazing! The budhism classes and meditations happened every day in German - translated to English - and we can participate in all of them. The environment is super relaxing, the accommodation is super confy and clean, the food served every day is fresh and healthy with many vegetarian options, on the weekends the Cafe is open and they have many delicious options on the menu, and the most important, the residents are the most kind people I've ever met! I'll never forget this experience!

Volunteering in the Center was a wonderful experience, wordless. I practice my german, I helped with the garden, I did different jobs and I contribute always to make it a better place for everyone. I hope to see you again. Thanks for everything.
