I had an amazing experience at Garawé! I met the best of people there and would have stayed longer if I had the time. The cook E-Nice and the help Seen were absolutely lovely and it felt good to work with my hands again. If I ever find the time I would defintiely come again.

We had a great experiance at the project Village! Our maintask was building and maintenance of the bamboohuts, the watertower, the road and other facilities. There is a great variety of tools and materials, which makes it easy to improve your buildingskills and you can always chat with the campowner Lele how to solve different tasks. Off work we did some trips like hiking in the jungle and a boattour at the nearby lake. So if you are looking for an active and meaningfull time come to the project!

I really enjoyed my time at the eco village!! I even extended my stay a couple of extra days. I fell in love with the stars and river here. The locals that are employed here care deeply for the volunteers. Lele is a beautiful man with kindness in his heart. Take some time to get to know him and more to understand his words (you'll fast track this if you know Italian!) For the work: I came in with an understanding and love for permaculture philosophy which helped. If you're coming in with no knowledge, be sure to ask specific questions to gain an understanding and be ready to learn via observation. <3

Really loved this experience. Learned a lot about community. You sleep in your own hut, which is really lovely. And you can learn a bit of everything in the village, creating something with bamboo, gardening, painting… You just have to find your place in the village to contribute to the community. The river is in the garden, we swam there everyday! Lele is awesome and kind. I'll miss everyone :)

It was an enriching experience, in which I learned and felt welcomed by the people of the area. I also feel that I was able to see the perspective that other cultures different from mine can have, and above all, I understood what it means to live in a rural and jungle area.

Unfortunately i cannot recommend this experience. I ended up leaving early because it was not as described. When i was there, they trial ran families and it felt more of a tourist place than permaculture farm. Also the farm has been running for years and only now have they started growing vegetables. It was barely permaculture. Furthermore the Italian man who runs it only really speaks to the Italian volunteers. Khao Sok is such a lovely place and the other volunteers were lovely.

NIce tw start!!!

As soon as you arrived you said you would stay for a few days and then come back later!
So you've put yourself in the shadows without even being interested in participating.
You said you would come back and we confirmed the hut again, then you cancelled.
For you it was an opportunity to learn an extraordinary language like the Italian language, but I also speak minimally various languages, this can be learned if you wish.
In any case, we listen to criticism and try to organize ourselves to change communication.
Learn one thing in permaculture you don't run away from problems they solve them.
Another lesson: permaculture is not just vegetable gardens, if you stayed you could ask questions and learn, you preferred to stay on the internet for the entire short period.
You are always welcome to start your experience as I have already written.
To judge you need to be part of it. You have postponed your participation.
With love

I enjoyed my stay at Gaarawé. It was my first ever volunteering experience. The work was easy, but sweaty because of the heat and that's why we usely worked in the morning after breakfast. I slept in a spacious hut made out of bamboo. At Gaarawé Village you can do permaculture and be surrounded by lovely people in a peacefull place. I would defenitely come back next time I am in Thailand. I had a great time, thank you! See you soon. 💖

It was really amazing to learn about permaculture and live in a small community with travellers from all over the world!

I had lots of fun at Gaarawé! Lele invited me to his birthday party so I had a perfect start. I was warmly welcomed by Lele, Seen, E-Nice and all the other amazing volunteers I met there. The days off were great, we explored the beautiful nature around Gaarawé and in the evenings we were either sitting around the fire, watching films or playing cards. The work, however, was quite demanding physically and mentally. The heat is exhausting and if you freak out (like me) when a massive spider is suddenly on your leg, maybe it's not the right place for you. Still, I'd love to come back one day!
