El hostel fue mi primer voluntariado, fue una linda experiencia. Lastima que en mis días libres de las últimas dos semanas estuve enferma así que no pude disfrutar al 100%. Los desayunos eran muy ricos y el ambiente es muy lindo! Gracias por todo el hostel!

Desde el primer día que llegué, me trataron super bien, el staff es genial, sobre todo el anfitrión Amitai. Las condiciones del voluntariado se cumplen y el anfitrión es muy flexible, si necesitas algún día en especial podés pedirlo. En este hostel viví momentos únicos, los huéspedes y voluntarios que me encontré fueron muy buena onda. Si estás pensando en ir a Playa del Carmen, te recomiendo este lugar sin dudas!

Me voy de aqui muy contento con mi experiencia. Conoci muchos viajeros super buena onda, y me cayo muy bien Amitai quien es el anfitrion del Hostel. En mi caso, tuve que dejar el voluntariado antes, y hable con Amitai con tiempo y el supo entender y ser flexible asi que estoy muy agradecido. Muchas gracias a todos! lo super recomiendo.

My experience at the hostel was great and very peaceful, I was able to contribute by working in areas such as reception, bar and social media. The work was very easy, the schedules were respected and they were always flexible when I needed it. It was a positive experience :)

The hostel is more than a Hostel, is a family with diverse and fun people. The shifts are super cool and the tasks not difficult at all. If you are looking for a good volunteering in a great place. This is your spot!

I really had a great time volunteering at the hostel. The staff make you feel welcome from the very beginning. Wonderful location, and the thing I enjoyed the most was having my coffee and breakfast with the best view of the sea! Santi and Amitai are very understanding and they're always making improvements and taking feedback from the personnel, in order to make your stay more comfortable. I strongly recommend you to volunteer at the hostel!!

I loved the hostel, the volunteers, the managers, the location, everything was great. I had an awesome time with them, the tasks are really fair and easy, and the breakfasts in exchange are delicious, the rooftop and the activities are awesome :)

I would not recommend other travelers to work at the hostel, specifically travelers from diverse backgrounds. The owner can be extremely verbally abusive towards volunteers and I have watched him make volunteers cry-- as he does not speak to people with respect nor dignity. What made me leave the hostel specifically was that a guest was extremely racist, calling me the N-word, and instead of removing this guest from the hostel-- he spent the whole time yelling at me about how I should not care and neither does he. This ruined my volunteer experience, and I quit the hostel 14 days early.

Hello ! Allana is a very good worker and i highly recommend her to every body that want to hire her as a volenteer. unfurtently she left earlier then should this because she heard from another volnteer that a client talked about her ( not sending her loundry on time or somthing like that, a humen error ,those things happen) like "billow her nose" saying the N word. the other volenteer told it to allana only the day after , and not to me the manger amitai. allana then had a very intensive reaction for 2 things : 1- for being called that word behaind her back. 2. for thinking that all the other volnteers have gossiped behind her back about it because she been notified the day after.
Allana called me and was totally in shock from that, i , in that call have been geard about this situation for the first time . tried to relax her and told her that i understand her and that i need to hear what heppned from the other volenteer, also tried to be simpatetic with her and told her that i understand her as a jewish person that traveled the world alone 8 years and still today far from home that im getting antisametic calls ans talks all the time and if you let those type of thoughts tuach tou they will win. from that point allana looked at me differntly, for her the whole hostel was runed by a racist i think because i didnt just say ok i understand you, but what can i do it touched a dark spot in my soul as well so i hed to share it, i know today it was the wrong time psychologicly. we tried to have a converstion the day after , allana insisted that i have to be more understanding to that matter and start to explain to me that im a bad person if i dont do the things she wanted me to do that im gasligting and dont see the people just talking and not listening , i have asked her a simple question, how from a person that says the n word that talk become about my manger abilites in that moment i undertood that we dont see eye to eye anymore and wished her for the best. I have talked to the client the fallowing day and told her that in MAUI HOSTEL we are excpting that type of talk and if she have those type of opinios in her stay her to keep it for herself. the client didnt understand what i was talking about , probably deny it in her head but has sayd that she will be relax and do not cause any more problems and apologise if she hurt anybody.
Me as a hostel owenr cannot control the people that enter to our hostel, i can reacet to what heppen and thats exctly what i explaind to allana, she agreed with me but unfurtently coldent let go from the situation.
I understood her. Therefore , as i said at start of my review , i recommend allana , i think she will be a very good help in everything yoall will ask from her. best of luck !!!

The hostel was amazing! The volunteeer team was incredible, we were like a family and we had so much fun together. Playa del Carmen is a great place with a lot of activities and tours to do around Riviera Maya. The location of the hostel can't be better and breakfast is really good (note: you don't have free breakfast when you are off). They are super flexible with the shedule. The job at first seems a little bit difficult but at the end you will get it for sure. Amitai, the owner is a good person. Very strict but if you do your job well he will acknowledge that. Room is good
