Sammatz is a place full of hardworking people who are passionate about keeping their little village going and, of course, they expect you to be like that as well when they welcome you into their home. There are plenty of areas where you can help: from gardening to animals to bakery to cleaning to kitchen to helping with Peronnik. Therefore, you can try so many new activities and learn so many new things. For me this experience was incredibly refreshing and saturated with events. I got to meet so many wonderful people from all over the globe, the friends I've made were the best part of it all.

Even though I spent less time in Sammatz than I first expected. I got to see soo much in my short stay. People are coming from all over the world they are ready to socialize and create & sustain the friendly atmosphere. I had fun and met with so many people. Since I wanted to improve my German my duty was to be in the cafè and basically being a waiter. Not only I improved my German I also gained confidence speaking it and I must say people really encouraged me which I really appreciate :). Overall Sammatz has its own rules,time flow and atmosphere. Once you get used to it it's hard to let go.

The eco village, is quite an experience. There you can learn about different areas, socialize with people from all over the world, you can get to know different mindsets and philosophies. Something attractive was the way you could learn how to live in a community. The atmosphere among volunteers and with the locals is spectacular, respect is encouraged and you feel free to be yourself. The areas in which you can work,you find: bakery, stables, gardening, construction, etc. In all of them you can learn about what you are enriching yourself with new knowledge. I highly recommend this experience :)

A casa para voluntários é incrível, super acolhedora e bem preparada. Algumas comidas fora de validade, mas no geral a cozinha sempre tem comida e você pode cozinhar a qualquer momento do dia, além do almoço que é servido no refeitório (menos domingo). Bem afastado da cidade, se você gosta de ficar isolado em comunidades será perfeito =) Se pretende ficar mais tempo, recomendo já agendar desde o início, pois quando finaliza o vínculo através da plataforma as hrs de trab aumentam. Organização sempre aberta a diálogo, respeito a diversidade e muito cuidado com o lugar, ótima experiêcia!

The experience was good! Sammatz in summer is a paradise, also the place is comftable and they offer a lot of food. If you go will learn a lot from them specially their filosofy and life stile which is so peaceful. There is some things they might improve like the flexibility to ask the days off and schedules, in June they mix volunteers with kids internships they are in their summer, it is more work for us and some times turn out to a mess the kitchen, I expected more activities and tours as offered. It's place for volunteers who love nature and animals, I do recommend it! 💚

The four months I stayed in Sammatz were quite intense. I sure had fun meeting lots of people from different countries, working in the shop, taking care of animals (from cows to bunnies), driving and, especially, working in the construction! On the other side, I also had moments of frustration with some miscommunication and trying to learn German. But even those not so good moments taught me something about myself and what I want in my life.. Therefore, I am glad that I chose this place for my first volunteering and I really hope that Sammatz only gets better with time :)

I had so much fun at Sammatz and met so many awesome people from various countries. I worked often as part of the garden team, and really enjoyed spending so much time outside. I hope to return and see the tulips bloom! 🌷

My experience in Sammatz was amazing, 100% recommended! I connected with international travellers and nature. Great place to have a real social impact. You can learn many different things during the tasks, the community is very good, understanding and kind. We have the opportunity to practice other languages, cultures and make good friends. Besides, the forest and gardens nearby are wonderful, the food is delicious. It is a place for anyone eager to learn new things and about themselves in a safe space.
