Le bâtiment était extrêmement sale, avec des excréments et urine de chiens au sol dans le salon. Les chambres étaient surpeuplées, les matelas sans draps et tachés, et les conditions d'hygiène générales étaient inacceptables. La cuisine était séparée du salon par des planches de bois délabrées, et la propreté laissait à désirer. Les toilettes étaient dans un état tellement mauvais que je n'ai pas osé les utiliser. Cette expérience a été très difficile pour moi, au point de partir dès mon arrivée. Les conditions d'accueil des volontaires sont inacceptables et doivent être revues.

My time at the shelter was very valuable and memorable! The volunteers & owners were very welcoming and cared about my integration despite a language barrier. Everyone really cares for the dogs - It was inspiring to see so much meaningful work done w/ little resources. Fair warning that since it's a donation based non-profit, it's not furnished well, we share our lounge area w/ the dogs so it gets quite dirty, and a rat near the kitchen. It took me some getting used to but it was a small price to pay when I saw how important their work is - everyone working to give so many dogs much better lives ❤️

O voluntariado foi minha primeira experiência WorldPacker e foi uma vivência muito rica de aprendizados, trocas relevantes e amor pelos animais. Minha convivência e relação com Patri e José, coordenadores do projeto, foi muito respeitosa e aberta e me senti confortável para dizer o que sentia. Foi muito bom conhecer meus colegas de voluntariado e posso dizer que desenvolvi um carinho real por todas as pessoas que tive a oportunidade de conhecer na the shelter. Os animais são muito bem cuidados e amados, e saio da experiência com lembranças maravilhosas e saudade de todos, em especial de Ash! ❤️

This was my first worldpacker experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Patri was very welcoming from the get-go and responded to any questions or concerns I had. All the volunteers at the shelter were so welcoming and kind and I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to spend the time with. The work was really fulfilling and enjoyable and you can see how much the people there care about the animals. I would love to go back again and I was sorry that I only chose to go here for two weeks , I wish my stay had been longer.

As a first volunteering experience I couldn't have hoped for anything better than that !! Patri, Jose and all of the others volunteers are just soooo nice and committed to da good thing for those precious animals! They all made me feel at home and I will forever be grateful for their kindness and generosity. I have now so many new memories and friends that I will never forget !! Grateful and hoping to be able to see them all again soon !

I had an incredible experience working at the shelter. all the people there are there to care for animals, which says a lot about their personalities: kind and caring, with lots of generosity to give. the community there was more like a family than a workplace, all united by a common objective. the work is very fun- essentially consisting of playing with animals and taking dogs for walks through the beautiful Catalunyan countryside. i would definitely recommend the shelter and hopefully will return one day. thanks to everyone that made my experience great!
