The people: The owners/ managers at the hostel were incredible. They are some of the most generous & welcoming people I've met. Very down to earth and genuinely kind as well. Area/ vibe: I volunteered for a month in Santa Rosa which is a small town close to some popular hot springs, the general vibe of the city & hostel is laidback. Activities: One of my favorite experiences was going out to Pereira (~30 min drive) for a drum circle/ music thing. We also did some BBQs. Definitely glad I chose to volunteer at the hostel.

Tener a Step en kimaná fue una experiencia muy positiva, desde el inicio mostró responsabilidad, buena comunicación y una actitud muy respetuosa con el espacio y con todos en la casa. Se adapto a las tareas, trabajó con disposición y siempre estuvo atenta a lo que se necesitaba.
A nivel humano aportó una energia tranquila y muy bonita, conecto bien con los huéspedes, y colaboró con el equipo.Agradecemos su paso por aquí y todo lo que sumo. La recomendamos totalmente como voluntaria. Un abrazo.

Cuándo llegué Andrés, Alan y Erika me dieron la bienvenida como familia. Thank you for everything, especially your incredible patience with my spanish and tips for what to see and do. Everyone at this hostel is there to help you and have been in your shoes themselves. This stay gave me exactly what I was looking for: to get more in touch with the local life and culture, to improve my Spanish, and to experience the beautiful nature of Colombia. The work was fair and a lot of the time enjoyable. I recommend this stay to any travellers wanting to truly discover Colombia.

I loved my stay at the hostel, the whole team are super welcoming, the tasks are simple and as described. It was a great place to practice Spanish and get to know a less touristic Colombian town. I can't wait to go back!
