Santander, and the hostel itself were both lovely but Angel, the host, was often difficult. He was very unpredictable. He would yell at people when they mildly inconvenienced him. He had cameras all over the hostel, and regularly asked me about conversations I had with the volunteers or with guests, that were meant to be private. He complained a lot to me about one of the other volunteers, and he made a number of racist comments regarding guests, during my stay there. I considered leaving this experience early due to his temper. The work was fair--3 hours per day, but I wouldn't recommend.

I have never han a volunteer who showed so much happines to be here, and now I am reading that ... all the time you were here you were feeling this way.
Please do not confuse, jokes among us, the house, the team... in a low profile team free of speech approach, with mean intentioned behaviours towards you... I new you were quite rigid from the very begining... but I never had the feeling of such a disconfort while you were here, never. I am surprised that your spend all this time in such a suffer. I had wished you to go at the very first sign...
So much anger... Isn´t it? Hmmmm
I feel:
Disappointed with your lack of discretion with the internal things of the house. Disappointed with the innumerable details that you have experienced from us. I sense a resentment that is not fair. You magnify details that you expose as horrors.
Perhaps you are the one who should work on your rigidity...and intention of heart, if you are so malicious.

I had an incredible time in the hostel! I met a lot of people with very different experiences, I had time to think, to read and to enjoy nice walks next to the sea. I really appreciated it and I really felt like home! Angel helped me to get more confidence, to practice Spanish and English and to feel part of the hostel, to feel involved! Thank you so much for the experience! It was my first volunteer experience and it was super nice to start there! I wish you the best! 🍀🌞🌊

Awesome experience working at this hostel. Lots of free time. Its a very clean and relaxed environment. The daily breakfast is stocked! You'll enjoy visiting the beaches and the manager Angel is a good guy who can teach you a lot about hosteleria. He likes when you socialize with the guests and make them feel at home as he does. The volunteer bedroom doesn't have windows but the fan makes a big difference. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend time on the beach and meet new people.

Miss Katia has turned out to be the most special volunteer of all those who have passed through this hostel. With a restless, fun and energetic personality, Katia has left her mark in this house. Her contagious laugh is still heard in the hallways and in the living room. I personally ... miss her so much. Thanks Katia.
