I'm so grateful for this experience! The environment helps you to immerse you in this community and make very positive bonds. You can meet people from different cultures and very good stories from everyone. The food is delicious and everything is shared and very organized. You can feel the good will from everyone and it helps you change your mindset to do the same. Definitely it's a blessed place! Depending on the area they choose for you, you can become so physically exhausted that you don't enjoy your free time very much. But, taking that out, that place it's a magical place to experience.

My experience was very pleasant, I met people from all over the world and exchanged experiences. I stayed for six weeks, my goal was to practice English however there weren't many people who spoke English, there were a lot of Latinos and Spaniards, which displeased me a little because it was beyond my objective. As for the work, it's hard, you're really going to get tired, but that's good for the body and soul. I worked 4 weeks at Art Studio and asked to be transferred to House Keeping, that's where I really found myself, people were more united.I recommend it to anyone looking for inner peace

Thank you Annette and the entire the community team for an amazing experience! Working in the kitchen was a great experience which allowed me to learn a lot and meet many of the residents. The accomodation and grounds were beautiful but I would warn future volunteers to be wary of the location. It is a 50 minute walk into Ulverston town the community and a car is needed to reach most destinations in the Lake District.
