If you are looking for an experience in eco-construction and permaculture, I can only recommend Juan's family place. You will not only learn about those two area, but also local traditions, cooking with local spices and fruits, while spending good times with the host and volunteers!

Juan and his family made our stay an excellent experience! I thought it would be nice for knowing locals and make social impact, but it was much better than expected. I learned so much about bioconstruction and permaculture. The tasks are well diveded as well, so you don't do just repetitive activities. It was a pleasure interacting with the family, the comunity around and knowing so many beautiful places with almost no turista at all. A great moment for reconnecting with nature and been more socially and environmentally aware.

Overall it was a good experience! The location is beautiful. You only work 4 hours in the morning, which leaves you free to explore the nature around you: waterfalls, rivers, birds, and butterflies! However, it does not feel like only 4 hours of work. You are expected to clean and cook meals (not all of them). This adds hours to your day. Also, as a single female, I would not have felt comfortable alone at the farm without the handful of other volunteers. The family is welcoming enough, but if you do not speak fluent Spanish I would not advise coming here alone.

A wonderful place. Surrounded by nature, a comfortable climate. The hosts are kind, considerate and hospitable people. I felt like family I hope to return very soon.
