It was my first time volunteering and the truth is, it set the bar very high! I had an incredible month, I met people from all over the world, I laughed like never before, I discovered a new culture and I made friends for life (special greetings to my good colleagues: Andula, Iván, TB and Janka). The tasks are fun, you have a good time during your shifts, you have very flexible hours and everyone is willing to help you with whatever you need. I am very grateful to Jerry and Michal for accepting me, for their flexibility and caring. Hope we meet again and dekuji mots!

I had a really instructive experience : Everybody of the staff had been really kind and patient, it was lovely work with eachone of them. They told me about local culture and secrets of Prague city,thereby it became a pleasure for me sharing these information with hostel's guests. I learned how to welcome persons with the best of way,listening and curing thier necessities, experiencing by first hand ,how one high standard touristic structure works. Work and free time were well balanced, so I had time to enjoy the city, being also involved in activities organized by the hostel like tours.

We learned a lot during our month and half there; also we got the chance to meet all the amazing staff and volunteers. Everyone was really nice, and they were always ready to help you without any hesitation. Our only incovenient were the night shifts; we didn't think it was the safest option to stay alone during the night, so most of the times we were staying together. Also, the room we were staying in had 0 ventilation, plus the fact that if we wanted to go to the toilet at night we had to go throught the reception and get outside. However, the experience itself has been super enriching.

The staff were so lovely and we met some other great volunteers. We learnt heaps about Prague through working at the info centre and loved be able to go on tours and to other events for free! After having experience volunteering at other hostel, we found this to be long hours of work for not the best facilities, being in seperate rooms, and having lots of responsibility when left alone at night- but the lovely staff and volunteers made it doable! We found we were doing more hours so the other was not alone at the desk late at night. We would still recommend as Prague is so beautiful!

We had a great time working at the hostel. We bonded with amazing volunteers from all over the world and the staff has been super nice and helpful with everything. The location is perfect and central, the work is good even if the shifts are long to be a volunteer job (and with lots of responsibility, especially the night shifts). Anyway, I learned a lot and I am satisfied with the experience. The only downside is the accommodation since I think is not suitable to host couples and definitely could be improved (maybe the volunteers could share a flat all together).

The first day I got there, the wanted me to work, when usually you have at least 1 day off to get used. I arrived there at 8am and I was supposed to work at 1pm, I had to ask them not to work cause I was so tired form the flight and everything. I had to change room 3 times during my stay, I didn't have a stable place to sleep, that was annoying cause I had to pack my stuff all the time. The work is hard, you have to learn a lot of things as is not just a hostel is also an information point so everyone can get in and ask you about the city. They didn't respect my schedule as I worked a lot.

Hi Ivan. You were such disappointment to us. First of all, the first day is orientation training, that lasts max 2 hours. On the training we explain basic things how the hostel works. The real work start on scheduled day.
The work is 6 hours a day as agreed and we NEVER make anyone work more. If a volunteer wants to work more, then it's a paid job and we never force anyone to do that.

Even this is subjective thing, I don't think the work is hard. You stay at the reception with senior colleague and help us.

Yes, there is a lot of things to learn but all of us are always happy to help and we keep repeating until you handle the task. Everyone before and after you handled all the works perfectly.

What I really don't find fair is that you disappeared without saying anyone anything. But never mind, I wish you all good and I hope you found more satisfying works on your travel :-)

Praga é uma cidade incrível! Os voluntários que trabalharam comigo e os outros recepcionistas do hostel eram incríveis! Já sinto saudade de todos!!! O trabalho é ok, em geral tranquilo, mas pode se tornar um pouco demais dependendo do dia e horário. As instalações do hostel não são as melhores, cama, banheiro e cozinhas poderiam ter uma estrutura melhor, apesar disso, a localização é perfeita. Acho que vale a experiência

Awesome experience. The hostel has amazing staffs and overall 'feel-good' vibes around. Task schedule and type are quite flexible depending on your preference. Despite that, I seemed to struggle quite a bit with cleaning as the expectation appeared to gradually build up over time (this in fact varies with who you work with). I believe a clearer system in place may alleviate some misunderstandings especially on the specific cleaning responsibilities. Other than that, super highly recommend this experience. Be sure to take advantage of some free tours offered to volunteers!

It was a great experience! Prague is truly an amazing city with sooo much to see and do, and being at the hostel really helps to learn the city fast. The location is also great and is super close to everything. The work was easy and the hours were respectable, all of the people you work next to are super friendly and patient. I met so many incredible people from so many different places throughout the time I spent there I'll miss it! Thank you for everything :))

I loved the time I spent in Prague and at the hostel. It was such an eye-opening experience and a great way to meet people from all over the world. The location couldn't be better, and is super close to everything. The work for the most part was easy. It might take a few shifts to get used to everything, but there was always other workers on with you who could help. Jerry was a fantastic host, and it was nice that he was flexible with the schedules. The other staff - Tereza, Michael, Anna, Ivan and Helca were a joy to work with too. I'll miss everyone I met!
