It was my first experience as a volunteer and It was really amazing at Sunset, I'm so glad I did here, I would never change it!!! The tasks and hours were always respected (good luck with bed shifts is gonna be a funny gym session). I'm gonna miss you so much guys, love you everyone!! I would definitely come back for holiday or another volunteering experience!! See you soon :) ☀️☀️☀️

I spent a month with the hostel, and absolutely adored every second of my time. All members of the staff are the warmest most welcoming people. After just a few days, they all felt like family and the hostel, like a second home. I volunteered alongside 3 other girls in a shared dorm and we all had the best time together. The hours were very reasonable - sometimes you would have 16hrs a week and others 24 but this allowed for consecutive days off to explore the rest of lovely Portugal/stay in the other hostels. Overall, I cannot recommend this opportunity more! muito obrigado! <3

I had an amazing time here in Lisbon! This was my first Worldpackers experience and I'm so glad this was the first! I learnt so much about myself while being here it really was exactly what I was looking for! I felt such a strong sense of community here and never felt alone. The hours and tasks were very simple and respected. The beds shift can be challenging depending on how many beds you have to do that day, but there is support from others to help if needed. Overall I had such an unforgettable experience and I hope to go back one day!

Home away from home ❤️ Lisbon the hostel was truly the best volunteer experience I've had. Everyone in the hostel is so welcoming, kind, and caring. I'm forever thankful for the memories I made here and hope to be back again one day!! Muito obrigada, love you guys ! ❤️

I experienced a good month in SDH considering it was my first time volunteering. Altough i faced a tough time during my first week cause of loneliness, once i built relationship with the other female volunteers the things got better and better . Also the stuff , particularly Albano, Tee, Diana and Sonny, were incredible since they were very friendly and welcoming people. The shifts were meneageable, also some week you don't have even to do all the 20h, which you are supposed to do. I would recommend this hostel not only as a place for volunteer , but also for staying as a guest.

All the staff membrers was so nice and we had a lot of fun together. Reception was a lot of fun and João was an amazing coworker. The volunteers I worked with became my siblings and we really connected. To make the place better I would like to have a more professional schedule that follows the promises every week. And also be more understanding with sick days. But I would recommend it for a nice Lisbon visit.

We are very surprised that you say the schedule did not follow the "promises" since we talked this through and we actually came to the conclusion that you had less shifts than you were supposed to! We are even more surprised with you saying we were not understanding with sick days as we never asked a volunteer to work when they are sick and we believe to follow up regularly on them. We are sorry you felt that way.

I was really lucky to be volunteering at the same time as other amazing volunteers and I loved getting to know them. Breakfast and doing PR are pretty easy shifts and are enjoyable. The beds shift is difficult but gets easier with time. The location is pretty central and I felt very welcome & at home at the hostel.

I really liked my Time there. The hostel is very central and the people working there are really polite and friendly. I meet a lot new travelers and got to see the city. In the time I was there all the Volunteers lived in the same small room without windows and a broken bathroom. That was too small us and after I mentioned the bathroom nobody fixed it. That was a little sad. But when I asked to move to the sister hostel the SDH they arranged it for me. There I slept in a girls room that was bigger and nicer. There I had a better time living. The work was easy and the working time was good.

Just to mention that the first room you slept at had 4 people sleeping there and that the reason why you asked to move was not the few space nor the bathroom... Despite that, we listened to your complain and the bathroom is fixed by now, it was just a security tap that was closed.
