The experience was extremely positive for my purposes. It was a great opportunity to experience the community without it being touristic and to learn about Waorani's culture. Moi knows many trails inside of the forest and share a lot of knowledge about their culture. Important to describe that beyond the work in the project to build the refuge, the volunteers needed to cook their food and wash all the dishes most part of the days. Also, I suggest to the volunteers confirm the day fee before going to ensure nothing has changed. Although that points, I totally suggest the experience!

The community Jungle is amazing! Lush vegetations, bird noises and an interesting community. I volunteered for two weeks, I learned about their indigenous culture as well as others, saw their speciality crafts, participated in a couple rituals and socialized with people from all over the world. We were a group of 6 volunteers at the beginning. Everyone was very nice and made an effort to speak in English since my Spanish is very weak. I do recommend you go if you're Spanish is good because the family doesn't speak English. Also make sure to confirm what project you'd like to work on.

I absolutely recommend the community, as I had the best time I could imagine breathing the community everyday, while there. There is soo much you can learn and Moi and his parents will be happy to guide you through it all during your stay. Even though they are new to worldpackers, the community has already received more than 200 volunteers from all over the world!! So they know how to handle people from outside and provide everything that's needed. Everything met my expectations or were even greater: food, accommodation, jungle, knowledge shared, hosts, work. ❤️
