I feel like you have to be a very specific type of person to thrive here. For me, it was a bit too much. Did meet some lovely people though! If you loveee partying, surfing and don't mind bugs, this could be your place. However, if you're looking for something more comfortable, I wouldn't recommend staying at the surf camp. Dorms can get quite dirty, and you'll be sharing them with many people (16/20). Do bring a mosquito net! And be prepared to pay extra for drinking games/excursions (can be expensive). You can also explore by yourself or with friends, so no pressure there. Ask me anything!

This experience helping girls a person as it was so out of my comfort zone. It was nothing like I expected. This is truly an outdoor camping experience. You shower outdoors with cold water, your dorm is outside and all of your belongings, get dirty with sand or dirt. Bugs are always there so the communal pets can be helpful. Get ready to spend money because everything expensive from the excursions to the trips to town. most people here are backpackers so it's a great way to meet other travelers. Food at camp was good but stomach bugs were so common. Have a positive attitude!!

The host Ollie was welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere, however, was not what I expected. It seemed more like a high school with various cliques and exclusion. It wasn't my cup of tea but that doesn't mean it won't be yours. The work is incredibly easy though and you can choose what your job is at the group meeting.

The surf camp Surfcamp is a nice place to relax and party. I also felt more like a guest than a volunteer (over 50% are volunteers). You only work like an hour a day which is pretty nice. There is also an amazing yoga teacher where you can take place for free. Some downsides are that they charge you for almost everything. Tours to waterfalls and beaches, activities and in the evening smalls amounts for the shuttle to town to go partying. Also in my opinion the food is not enough. When I pay 15$ for food a day I expect that I am not hungry after dinner.

I think the surf camp is a good option to give you a sense of community while traveling. I felt it socially demanding and overwhelming at times. The accommodation is a bit rough depending on where you are placed. There aren't enough busses for the amount of people. Repetitive schedule and excursions are quite expensive. A lot of volunteers were complaining about the small food rations, but I found them adequate (same breakfast every day, similar dinners). Hoping to shed some light as the reviews were misleading for me. Overall a huge learning experience and I made amazing friends and memories!

I enjoyed my time there a lot. I would recommend starting off with 3 weeks and if you wanna stay longer you just tell the manager. The friends that I met there are incredible and I would definitely recommend it.

I had a lot of fun at the surf camp I got to meet so many amazing people! The tasks as a volunteer were straight forward and easy. Lots of time to explore town and surf. The hostel provided a social environment and organized lots of games to bring people together. Thank you to all the amazing friends I've met. This hostel is a good fit if you want to meet fellow travellers and enjoy the sun and surf!

The surf camp was amazing for meeting people and practicing english. It didn't feel exactly like i was in the surf camp but is so much fun and perfect to getting to know people and go travelling after the camp to other places in the surf camp. Accomadations arent the most comfortable but its a camp so i did expect that. Its a really social place so it can be tiring at times but also fun :)

Honestly its no volunteering, it's just a party camp so if you're into that it's totally for you. You'll save money for sure and sleep in a 20ppl dorm with two cats and the dogs might visit so if you don't care abt that and the fact that you are relying on the daily schedule and the daily meeting in camp (like a youth party camp) you're good! You barely have to work and they just make money by renting you the ugly dorm and make you go on daytrips and take surf lessons which you all have to pay extra for. A lot of ppl enjoyed the party vibe so if that's for you go for it.
