The hostel it's the best place to volunteer ever. I cannot express how good is that place. You'll have everything you need, the job it's easy and fun, the people are amazing, don't think twice, go for it (if you're cool, if you're not - don't even bother to apply). Igor and the staff are incredible and will do everything they can to make you feel like home. Ahauahau LOVE U PETRA.

Mail the hostel, Igor and Petra are definitely something else. You can count on feeling like you're at home from the first interaction with anyone, including the most beautiful and amazing dogs you'll meet. If you read carefully the description and talked with Igor you will understand that it's a strait forward interchange (if you're not an NPC). Tasks are fairly easy and you'll get time to chill and do other stuff. As a plus, and very important, the kind of people the hostel attracts in general is unique and awesome. I'm definitely coming back to pay a visit and chill in this wonderful hostel.

Nico, and sorry for using your platform to amend a statement, but the worldpackers site is broken and there is no way of contacting the crew: I see some confusion by new applicants, based on a review left by a previous volunteer. I thought it was obviously a lie, but apparently not to everyone - no volunteer here pays for their food. The person is obviously lying by stating "you do this to all volunteers" - a) this would imply she actually met any of those previous volunteers (ridiculous) except Nico here and b) obviously not a single review mentions they had to pay for their own food, and rest assured they would say it - as we all know you're travelling on budgets and every cent counts. What really happened is she never asked for a refund ; even if i were not completely disgusted by the conduct of this person she would have received her money back, but i have a full house to run and frankly can't be bothered to think about such details. All it takes is a reminder and that's up to you, dear volunteers. As for the rest of her comments, it's hilarious and doesn't bear any further expense of energy, this has been more than enough.

Tx nico :)

Best volunteering experience so far! The hostel has a great and chill atmosphere, with art everywhere, two cute dogs and lots of plants 💚 I've met amazing people at this place and I'm very grateful for that. Igor is a special person, definitely worth meeting. I felt safe and happy in the hostel, and I'm leaving with tons of good memories with me.

The month I spent in the hostel was fun and super chill (specially because I came in winter, which is off-season). The tasks are easy, but demands responsibility: do what you have to despite anyone asking you. Igor is a nice and flexible guy, who's willing to help anyway he can. Also, from Zagreb you can go easily by bus to many countries nearby, which is good for travelers/backpackers.

The owner of the Hostel.was rude to communicate some stuff. The job is not 2 hours a day but 4 hours a day and couldnt use the laundry or had the meals because the only thing that he says is that we should Buy our food and then he Will pay back. At the end, that didnt happen. You won't sleep at volunteers room. Either a couch on the Hostel or on his Friend apartment. The job was cleaning the bathrooms, doing the beds and cleaning the garden. But he also Made me water their Friends plants and wanted me to clean the bathroom of their Friends apartment! I feel disrespected. Avoid this person!

Since you like using big words like karma, I would say you got exactly what you deserved here :) Everyone involved, and that's five more people, was very happy when you left. Your housemates, because of your low hygienic habits and the crew because of your spoiled attitude. Good luck with future volunteering, you'll need it.

It was an amazing experience and I would like to go back there more times! The work is easy and straightforward, Igor is totally clear on what he wants you to do, but he won't remember you to do it everyday. Also, it depends upon you how long you take to finish it as long as you do it well done. You know what you have to do, so go and do it. He is also friendly and caring, making sure that you have a good time. The vibe at the hostel, the conversations, food, new guests that you meet it really is a special experience.

What a place! I've volunteered in many places, but I think that's the best that you can get. You will feel really safe and comfortable here. They will take care of you and treat you like a human and not just as free labor like some places do. Everything that is promised in the profile is respected and the house is really as beautiful and amazing as the pictures. For some magical reason the guests that this place attracts also follow the same conscious and sharing vibe. I'll really miss the deep late-night conversations in the garage full of art and the long breakfasts in the garden.
