One of the best places, if not THE best, I've volunteered at. I've done language exchange volunteering before [in a different country though] but that was a bit more formal. This one though is a lot more casual so it's sooo chill and feels more natural talking to fellow staff and locals. I've also met some locals I've hung out outside of the coliving! they're super friendly. and yuta is a very accommodating and understanding host, so overall, I highly highly recommend this place!

My experience at the coliving was amazing!! It was such an awesome opportunity to speak to Japanese people and to make quality friendships with young people from all over the world. Yuta is flexible works with your scheduling needs. This was the perfect way to economically explore Tokyo and have time to see other places in Japan. The only thing I'd say is that you should prepare for not-so-great accommodations. The place is fine and totally liveable, just keep your expectations at bay and you'll be set for success. Feel free to send me a message with any questions if you're considering the coliving!

Amazing experience in the heart of Tokyo! I met great people both local and fellow travelers. The only downside was the accommodation, so don't have too high expectations … but for the rest 10/10

A unique and special way to stay in Tokyo, I got to talk with many locals with diverse backgrounds at the coliving. That itself is worth a fortune considering that it is usually not too easy to talk to random Japanese people in a city like Tokyo with its social codes/ norms. I felt an abundance of love at the coliving with the regular customers, the coliving staffs and especially with my adorable fellow international staffs. I can confidently say it was one of my life's best moments which I will forever cherish. Last but not least, Yuta was extremely helpful and trust worthy :) Thank you!

Amazing first trip to Japan. the coliving will push your social skills if you're not a total extrovert, but it's such a good way to travel solo because you really meet and connect with locals and other travelers that otherwise you wouldn't have the opportunity to. Take advantage of your access to the other language tables, too. You get close with your group and also have time to travel elsewhere in Japan. The location of the main house in Shin-Okubo is excellent--a bit calmer part of Shinjuku but still very central. Only negative is I got sick which seems to be common but still 100% worth it.

Volunteering at the coliving's café was a dream come true. Not only did I get to experience the local life in Japan, but also got the chance to meet and befriend people from all over the world. This job is for an extrovert and to us it was heaven on earth. I definitely recommend anyone to volunteer at the coliving whenever they want to come to Japan.

The time at the coliving flew. Although I was a bit sick for some weeks. I really enjoyed. I had a wonderful time at the coliving. You can connect with locals and make friends. People is really eager to know about you and your culture. Yuta great host, he helped us a lot even when he was not there. I totally recommend the place for anyone wants to experience Tokyo. This city has so much to see that sometimes can be overwhelming. But definitely would be one of these places you wanna get back.

I'm so grateful for my experience at the coliving and for all the amazing people I met here. It is a great way to immerse yourself in the culture, and you get to have a lot of interesting conversations with locals at the coliving. My sharehouse was also centrally located and just one train station away from Shinjuku. I would definitely recommend this experience!

I highly recommend this experience! This is the best way to live Tokyo like a local, to connect with a lot of people and learn more about different cultures, especially Japanese culture. The hours of the shifts were always respected, giving you plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace. The host Yuta is extremely kind, respectful and easygoing, the concept and vibes of the coliving are amazing, specially on Friday nights.
