My experience in the guest house was very good, the hotel is located in a beautiful place full of hikings and beaches to go, as a hiking lover, it was amazing to me. Work was simple but had a high volume since it was holiday season so the hotel was always busy. You'll have 1 day off and they'll take you to Donegal once a week to buy your weekly food. Leon and Gillian made me feel part of their family, I enjoyed a barbecue with their family. I had a great time there and would recommend the experience for people that like nature and want to spend some time in a remote and calm place

The guest house is situated in a gorgeous place, there are a lot of beautiful trails I really enjoyed because I love hiking. Gillian and Lion are very good persons. They easily made me feel like one more of their family. I especially liked hearing their laughters at the mornings while they were chatting with the guests. Another positive thing in the guest house is you will meet people around the world, for me it was so good, and I could improve my English conversations with different accents and I made friends from different countries. I spent a great time there, and I will miss some things, especially the hosts.

Truth be told, Leon & Gillian have a very strong limiting beliefs, I was also met with threatening behaviour from Leon, telling me I'd have my neck snapped, Even though I believe he misheard what I said, I have autism & differences are often judged by Leon & Gillian. The work consists of 4 hour days 6 days a week, although it stated you get 2 days off, which is a total fabrication of the truth, Yet if you speak up, it's your issue, even though they're the “professionals” They are controlling individuals & I do not write this out of spite, if rather someone doesn't face the same issues..

The guest house is quite lovely however the hosts are very opinionated and make situations very uncomfortable with both their temper over small issues and expressing conservative/ racist beliefs. The room is shared with Worldpackers, bathroom is communal: fine, but the lack of privacy can be irritating as the hosts barge in without knocking and often question about whereabouts on our free time. If you spend long durations in your room you're asked if you're depressed. Work is supposed to finish in the beginning of the day and is easy, however you may be asked to do tasks during free time.

Staying and working in Glencolumbkille was quite the learning experience. The landscape and locals were lovely. Though the BnB is quite remote, you'll surely enjoy the scenery on your walks or bus trips there. It is important to note that the hosts do have conservative opinions regarding race & religion, the LGBT community and others appearances/weight. their information guide does state that you will receive 2 days off, however it is only 1. the daily work can be completed in 3-4 hours. I'm thankful for this experience regardless.

The guest house was my first experience with worldpackers and I absolutely loved it there! I've been there for six weeks, but it felt like much less, because work didn't feel like work and, most importantly, because of Leon, Gillian and Minky of course! From the first second, they made you feel welcome. We shared a lot of laughs and spent beautiful evenings in the kitchen eating cake. I have so many things to say, but the review can't be longer than 600 characters. Nevermind, words can't express how grateful I am that they made my experience so enjoyable! Thanks Leon and Gillian! Wish you the best!

The guest house is a lovely place. As soon as you get there you feel welcomed and as a part of the hostel. If you want to travel, to see the nature of Ireland and simultaneously want to get to learn a lot of new people, the guest house is the perfect place. Gillian and Leon are always very bright and always have a good laugh with the guests and the workers. Both of them are very caring and really love the area and love to show you where the best places to go are. I've been there with a friend and in our 6 weeks we enjoyed the area and had tons of laughs over a piece of cake. Both really make it a unique stay!

I came to the guest house with Aniek and I absolutely loved it there. It is a very remote place, but it is well connected with a bus line. The bus stop is a few meters away and takes you to Donegal. The surroundings at the guest house are absolutely stunning. Wherever you walk to, the view is beautiful. You will be lodged in the BnB. All I can say about it, is that it's very comfortable. You have access to a large kitchen and you can relax in the lounge. And Leon and Gillian are of course lovely people. They make you feel at home and help you with things as much as possible. I will definitely miss the guest house!

We have had an amazing experience at the guest house BnB. This was our first volunteer experience. We were there in September, when the season was almost over. The work was quite easy and light. It's very quiet, but the surroundings are beautiful and worth it. Leon and Gillian are also lovely people, they welcome you with open arms (Gillian bakes amazing cakes). They'll show you around the area, and take you to the highlights. We will miss them and the guest house, but hopefully we'll see each other again!
