My stay at the lodgewas amazing! Nelson and his family really make you feel at home by sharing everything, from food to stories. You really get to know a little bit more about Peruvian and Inka culture with them. Unfortunately, I didn't stay long enough to learn Quechua or to do social media work, but everything I've learned while with them was incredible. Nelson is an amazing guy, always willing to help and flexibilize the work hours so you get to know the surroundings. It's a really worthy experience. Brother, when in Brazil, don't hesitate do let me know. Un abrazo!

Ficar no eco lodgecom a familia de Nelson foi uma das experiências mais incríveis que já vivi. Posso dizer que foi um dos mais verdadeiros choques de cultura da minha vida, no alto dos meus 60 anos estar numa região arqueológica, com Nelson, uma pessoa extremamente gentil, amável e preocupada com o WP, sua mãe Sra Aurélia, seu pai Sr. Pompeyo, verdadeiros descendentes ancentrais e seu irmão Cristian, ser místico com muito conhecimento do cactos São Pedro. Uma verdadeira família peruana e seu dia a dia de trabalho. Colher e comer muita "papa" fez parte. Muito obrigado hermano. Fuerte abrazo.

Conviver uma semana com o Nelson e sua família foi uma experiência única e diferente de tudo que estou vivendo nesses 60 dias no Peru, ali a vida é levada de forma muito simples, ajudamos com as tarefas do dia a dia, colhemos batatas, cozinhamos , ajudamos com as plataformas sociais....... Bom para pessoas que querem viver essa experiência e ter contato com a natureza. Ao Nelson e sua família meu muito obrigada.

O Nelson foi extremamente querido e simpático comigo. Eles dão quarto privado e as tarefas são ok. Porém tive alguns problemas com sua família, principalmente a mãe que me tratou bem mal. A comida servida basicamente era batata e arroz e eu acabei ficando um pouco doente. Pedi para sair antes e ele gentilmente devolveu meu dinheiro. Aconteceram algumas coisas durante a minha estadia e me deixaram bem tristes, pois eu tinha uma expectativa alta com o lugar.

YOU HAVE TO PAY 5 DOLLARS PER DAY. KNOW THAT BEFORE YOU GO. IT'S NOT WRITTEN. The place seemed great but as i soon as i stepped there they wanted to charge me 5 dollars per night, even though nothing was written in the description. I've tried to talk to them and explain the situation but they've just said everybody who goes there know about the tax. I've also tried to contact WorldPackers but they didn't do anything as well. At the end, I had to find somewhere else to volunteer in the city because i didn't have the money to pay them.

Tive uma experiência maravilhosa com a família do Nelson! Aprendi muitas coisas novas, me senti em casa em todo momento, e com certeza faria novamente. Trabalhei no campo, ajudei na construção do teto feito de cipó, colhi comia para os cuis, ajudei na limpeza áreas de plantação, enfim, uma experiência que nunca imaginei, que mudou muito minha forma de pensar sobre o trabalho no campo. Amei cada minuto com essa família que me acolheu com filha durante 9 dias. Obrigada por tudo Nelson e Família, espero vê-los novamente.

I had a really great time with Nelson and his entire beautiful family!! They're very walm and welcoming and really eager to share they're culture with anybody who wants to learn. This is a great way to get a real look into Peruvian. Hours are easy, you work in the morning and have the afternoon off. Tasks change depending on what they need doing, construction, planting, general labour. Mountains are incredibly beautiful! Amenities are basic, there's no hot water or internet, and it's quite cold where they have dinner, outside. Please keep that in mind. Food is simple but good.

The lodgeis a perfect place if you are looking for a real peruvian experience. The owner, Nelson, is a really nice guy that wants you to feel welcome and help you get to know the surroundings. He even let you have flexible hours so that you can do trekkings. the lodgeis close to the entrance of some trekkings (Laguna Ahuac) and is an unique experience in Huaraz. But have in mind that you wont have some comforts that you would when staying at the city center. There is no hot water, no wifi, and the food is very simple. They do San Pedro ceremonies, but it costs 175 soles each. Recommended!
