Uganda has my heart. I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived, connecting with other travellers, who shared this wonderful experience with me. Lydia and Emma were wonderful hosts, and I loved spending time with the kids at home. I can truly say that I have a little Ugandan family now. I would recommend asking when school holidays are before you book your time here, as I only got to teach for 2 weeks out of the 4 weeks I spent there. There is also a lot of free time as school is only 9am-2pm, so plenty of time to spend time with volunteers exploring Jinja and going on fun adventures.

It was a truly amazing experience. I was able to fully immerse myself into their culture, meeting lots of new people. Emma, Lydia and their family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of their family. The school is filled with such happy children that get so excited to spend time with you. The volunteers help with a variety of activities from helping or teaching a class, marking books, creating resources for children, playing sports games and helping with renovations of the school. Thank you for everyone who shared this experience with me.

I had a month of volunteering experience and I would like to say how grateful I am. I feel that I have a new family and that their dreams are also very important to me. The children have the most genuine smiles, the teachers are incredible people with a huge heart. Being at the house with the family was a unique experience of exchange and pleasant moments that I will never be able to forget. If you want to volunteer, do it with an open heart. My experience in the organization was amazing. Lydia helped us all the time and made us feel at home. The school is filled with sweet children that get so excited to see you everyday! The food was delicious as well. The volunteers can help the teachers in the class, play with the kids ouside or help them fundraising using social media. I would definitely recommed this experiece to anyone.

Emma, Lydia and all the boys in the house really make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you step into the house. the school is fantastic and the children and teachers even more so. you will not regret going to uganda and work at the organization ❤️

There are no words that can describe the amazing experience that I had. It was my first volunteering so I was a little nervous but Lydia and Emma made sure that I was comfortable, safe and happy. The kids in the school, the teachers and the boys at home are so loving and they will always help you! Everyone will treat you with absolutely respect and love. If you come if open mind and heart it will be rewarding and enriching experience. If you are having doubts to decide whether to go or not: just go!!! You will have the best time. Now I have a family in Uganda and i will definitely come back!
