Heiko and Susan are both generous and warm hearted, besides providing a nice room to sleep and variety of good food to fill you up(many of them are fresh from the gardens!), they also care your feeling and daily life. You could learn a lot if you are interested in permaculture, ecovillage, foraging, even cooking, music or anything as Heiko is knowledgeable and full of life experience. The works are neither difficult nor heavy, the schedule is flexible, most of the time I work on my own and at my own pace. I feel very trusted. It would absolut be an unforgettable experience in my life.

Heiko and Susan were absolutely fantastic! Easy to talk to, learn from, and they have such an incredible outlook on life. The work was fair, and I felt like I got learn so much about the culture, the country, permaculture, and the world around us. I felt so honored to get to spend time and learn from Heiko - he's full of stories, knowledge, an extravagant and diverse music knowledge, and great cooking. I can't wait for the day I get to go back to see them both, see Finn and Ted, and see the progress made in the eco village.

The farm is a place, where you can learn about sustainability and nature. Heiko has an impressive knowledge about edible wild plants which later he uses in the kitchen too, creating delicious dinner! The stories I heard and experiences I had here made me realise some things about myself and the world. Although weather was usually miserable there, I had fun indoors, reading books from Heiko's library and playing with Finn and Tedd. The things which I did not like were worse than expected living conditions and the fact, that lunch was not provided, while it's stated differently in description.

Lunch IS provided, it's only that you help yourself to anything that is available and we had plenty of food in the house and garden, which you used plenty of. We are not in the habit of 2 or 3 cooked meals a day. As I said at the outset, you become part of the family with everything that entails. Living conditions are simple to live lightly on the planet and I would have appreciated you using the compost toilet. We are also not wealthy and it costs us a lot of money to host.

It wasn't quite what I expected but good none the less! I was able to learn about a way of living I'd never thought of and can appreciate what Heiko and Susan are contributing. Absolutely great people with a wealth of knowledge! If you enter with an open mind, you can learn a lot!

My experience with Haiko and Susan was really good they are a really lovely couple and really sweetheart both of them. Haiko has a lot of knowledge about permaculture and interesting life vision so is never boring talk with him. Also he has really good skills in cooking and you will never be disappointing in the dinner he makes. Also he has organic and handmade preparation and you can taste as a BlackBerry and Raspberrie jam , and beutiful eggs from the chicken in his garden. About the work it was really okay, and I didn't feel I was working too much . I recommend this experience

This was my first experience with worldpacker, and it was absolutely amazing. Heiko and Susan were wonderful. There wasn't too much work, and it varied a lot day to day. I had a comfortable room to myself. Heiko is an excellent cook, and so we always ate well. Everyday we took the dog somewhere for a walk, so I was able to see a lot of the surrounding area. It's very beautiful there. Heiko is extremely knowledgeable about the edible plants, and I learned a lot. Overall, I would highly recommend this experience.

I strongly recommend this place. Heiko and Susan are two wonderful people, full of vitality and knowledge about permaculture, willing to share with you as much as you want to learn. It was my 4th volunteering, so I know what Im talking when I say that this place is fantastic... the work is not so much, and they always adapted it to my abilities. Sharing time with them, the dog and the cat was wonderful. Thank you from for receiving me. It was super cool.

Heiko and Susan are absolutely lovely. I stayed in their farm for two weeks looking after the ducks, the chickens and Ted (he's a wonderful cat). The duties were really easy; feed the animals and water the plants. They were abroad during 12 days so I was on my own in the farm, but I spent the two first days with them. We shared interesting chats and tasty food. Heiko passed me on his knowledge about permaculture and he showed me what I had to do.

If you want to learn about foraging and permaculture, Heiko is definitely your guy! We foraged for seaweeds and other things on the shore, as well as in the forest. Heiko cooked really nice food every evening, often using foraged foods, and you get to enjoy free range eggs from their chickens and ducks. I felt very healthy, nourished, and sustainable whilst I lived there, and I have been inspired to take a permaculture course to learn further how to implement this way of life for myself in the future.
