The volunteering manager Gur was basically invisible the entire time I was there. His help or guidance was basically non-existent as I had to text him 3 or 4 times just to get a response. It was one of the other volunteers that really “ran” things even though it wasn't his job. I basically couldn't count in the leadership for anything, the owner maybe gave me a few minutes of his time but then got distracted by something else. I also got bitten by bed bugs and disturbed that the management knew people were getting bit but not shutting the place down to exterminate.

I applied for this volunteer experience like 4 months in advance so I could plan accordingly. Traveling from Argentina to Israel is very expensive and I've worked very hard for many years to make this happen. I traveled to Europe and 4 DAYS before my arrival date to Israel, James the manager writes me a WhatsApp message apologizing and telling me that the job I applied for (Marketing, Social media and Events) was not "available" because he didn't have enough volunteers. Until now I don't know what this really meant because he didn't give any details, he just said "Sorry". No commitment.

The hostel is located in the area with easy and fast access to the greatest monuments. Work and responsibilities in the hostel give a real possibility to travel around Israel. The hostel is comfortable to hang out in and the duties as simple and clear. Hours of work can be agreed which is a big advantage. However the hostel's owner don't really communicate with volunteers and some ideas which could improve the place, are just ignored. The hostel has a huge potential, unfortunately, the priorities are different. Generally I enjoyed staying and working there, I recommend the place.

This experience was one of my favorites so far! James the volunteer manager is very easy going and super accommodating to anything you need. Lior the event coordinator became more like a brother to me, I had so much fun running events with him. You will never be bored at this hostel, there is always a night event and you are bound to make friends to go on day trips with since you'll be one of 10 volunteers and the hostel always has 100+ guests. The work load is very light and the breakfast is amazing. I highly recommend this volunteer position(:

My stay at the hostel was an amazing experience. The people there are more than nice and if you show a bit of effort you will fit in immediately! James (the volunteer manager) has always time for you if you need him and gives guidance as much as needed without being bossy. They respect your working hours and the tasks are good to handle. I am very happy for my time there and I wish everyone there the best! Hope to see you soon again!

My time volunteering here was amazing, to say the least! I met the most amazing people, shoutout to my girls Amanda and Dana who are the cutest. Everyone here is so chill and kind, it's hard not to make friends! The shifts were short and sweet in my eyes, where you were asked to do simple tasks that occupied your time during that shift. I recommend the late evening shift or the mid day shift as those were my favorite! Thursday nights are party nights at the hostel with a bar connected to it, shoutout to Sammy for making the best fries and pizza. I miss them already. Hope to visit soon 🤍

Hello fellow travellers, I had a great time in Jerusalem and in the hostel. I think this volunteering experience has been my favourite to date. The best thing about the hostel is the other volunteers and the memories you make together. I went on two road trips with the people I was working with as-well as trips to the neighbouring towns, thank you Ziv. The hours are fair and the work load isn't heavy however you may find yourself working in the night and sleeping through the next day. Thank you also to Andrew who cooked for us and bought us together in the evening, it was a blessing. <3

The hostel Hostal is amazing; they are a great and big family and they make you feel part of it since the beggining. The tasks are very clear and fair. I felt like home, and the atmosphere among the volunteers is amazing. I would always be very thankful for this experience.

The hostel is an amazing place I loved! It was my first experience Worldpackers I am speechless to say how wonderful it was I'm sure I chose the best place to do my first volunteer! And a great place super well located! The people who work there are wonderful and the job is very easy! I did not speak English very well, everyone makes a great effort to understand. And a very comfortable place! Very Fun, I had wonderful moments! I'll miss you so much! Thank you very much for everything Kobi, Shahaf, Shachar, Orel and the whole team of the hostel.💚
