I just finished my stay at the finca! It is very beautiful and quiet. A nice place to relax and enjoy nature. During my stay I met and volunteered alongside people from all over the world. My Spanish was very basic when I first arrived and after my three weeks there it improved a lot. The work while I was there was mostly raking leaves. I didn't learn much a lot about sustainability like I'd wished to but some days we worked on construction projects which were interesting. Elmer, Emilio's brother is very friendly. He's funny and directs the work. He's also an amazing chef!

A fantastic place to stay if you -want to meet fun, adventurous people from all over the world -love dogs -want to disconnect -enjoy camping and all the fun creatures you meet while camping (spiders, mosquitoes, cockroaches, lizards, toads) -like building a fire to make coffee and food -appreciate a few hours a day of hard, manual labor -like swimming in rivers, hiking, and chilling in a hammock -don't need consistent wifi -are okay with your clothes never drying and therefore growing mold after a couple weeks (even my passport had mold on it) -don't mind waking up to 100 chickens

Elmer and Emilio were incredibly hospitable. Any questions or concerns I had were taken seriously and they always had an answer. I made the personal decision to leave a bit early based on concerns about the height/strength of the river with high anticipated rains, however even in doing so they both understood and were very kind. I learnt lots about life in the jungle and living sustainably. This was an experience I will never forget!

This was hands down the best experience of my life. Working with these amazing people has changed me forever. If you want to understand what it is like to truly live like a local costa rican and learn to do what it takes to live off the land this is the best place to do so. All that exist at the farm is light and love. A place to grow, heal, and learn all this beautiful landscape has to offer. Cannot express enough how grateful I am for my time here. 🤍

My experience at the farm was absolutely incredible! The family was so kind and easy to get along with, and I was able to practice my Spanish with them, which was very exciting. The farm is beautiful and it was fascinating to learn the day to day jobs and live in the middle of the jungle. Along with basic tasks of the farm, you see an abundance of wildlife each day and the downtime spent exploring the jungle or the town of Drake Bay is time well spent. One of the best experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend doing an exchange with this wonderful family.

My experience at the farm was a journey of self-awareness and appreciation for nature. It is a rustic platform where you camp (tent or hammock), the tasks where simple and straight forward. Drake Bay is a small Pueblo (35 min by foot) and there you can find most things you might need. I would recommend the farm organic farm to those who really like the rainforest and wild experiences.

The farm is not far from the town but not easy to approach, especially in rainy weather. Volunteers do everything which is needed to run a farm. Sometimes it contains hard physical work, but it is not typical. None of locals at the site speaks English, therefore at least basic Spanish skill is highly recommended. Electricity are provided from some solar panels at the site therefore access to electricity (like wifi/internet or recharging your mobile) is strongly limited. Your experience will be highly depended on other volunteers at the site. Good team collaboration is a MUST here.
