Teaching English to the kids takes less than 2h/day, but the opportunities to help/learn are infinite. Any /skill is useful. The community wants to learn from you and wants you to participate to their social life. I felt very welcomed by Dwi and her family, friends and neighbours. Dwi is more than a host. She provides a full local experience. She taught me much more than what I thought her and the kids. They treated me like family. I even got invited to several family gatherings. I just wish I brought more teaching materials/books. Unique Lombok cuisine, but don't forget to boil the water

I have found a second family in the school! Dwi is an amazing host and so passionate about her projects for the community. She integrated me into local life, attending family meals, where I was welcomed warmly and ate the most delicious food. I also learned about farming, harvesting chillis and edamame, preparing these with the extended family and learning to cook local dishes.Dwi also showed me a rural farming village and the traditional weaving technique. A truly authentic and culturally enriching experience (and the children are amazing)!
