My experience at the hostel was not one to forget. i came as a guest and ended up staying as a volunteer for almost two months. the job was perfect for those who love to be social— party shifts, making guests feel welcome, and showing people how we do it in barcelona. most importantly, i found a family in my fellow volunteers. note that you will work a good amount— 30-35 hours a week

Experience of a lifetime! I have volunteered at hostels before but never at one like this.. WOW. I have brought several friends to join as volunteers and they all cant stop talking about how fun this has been and i cannot recommend it enough. Living in Barcelona and immersing myself in the Spanish culture and the biggest clubbing scene in the world was beyond memorable. I created some of my best friends of my life and a million contacts to reach out to across the world. the hostel will always be part of my life and Rambabes (Ramblas) will always be in my heart - Cant wait to return!

During my time at the hostel Ramblas I truly felt like I developed as a human. The team honestly became some of my best friends I've made while traveling, the management was truly accommodating to all our needs and I felt welcome immediately. One of the best things about this position was the proximity and interactions we had with all the other hostels involved with the hostel in Barcelona. It was a massive community that I instantly meshed with, I had enough time for personal work as well as enough good times during the days and evenings. My time in the hostel was wonderful. Brenda is an amazing manager who makes you feel welcome from the very first moment. Among the volunteers, there's a family-like atmosphere, and we always helped each other - whether it was cooking together or swapping shifts. I had such a great time, and I'll definitely be back! Volunteering at the hostel was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It was my first ever volunteering experience, but the team made me feel at home from day one. I was there for one month but time just flew by way too quickly. The work there is in shifts which were given to us the week before. Our free time was fully respected by the management, and I used it to do my work and studying. At the hostel I've made friends for life and met the people from all over the world. Even after some other volunteering experiences, I can't compare my experience at the hostel to anything I experienced before. You are part of an international and welcoming team while working in a very special environment where you focus on sociability, creating memories and true friendships. You will overtake a lot of responsibility, learn new skills and grow out of your own comfort zone. During my stay I was sick for a long time and my host adapted my schedule to it which was really helpful for my well-being. Thanks for having me and making the time so special! <3 loveeeee

I volunteered at One Fam in Barcelona in December and January 2025. Most shifts involve socializing with guests, taking them on tours, cooking, going out to the most popular clubs in BCN, and some cleaning. There was also one night shift and 2 days off per week. I was there during the holidays, and it felt like home. We had a big Christmas dinner, and for New Year's, all five One Fam hostels in Barcelona celebrated together at our hostel, later watching fireworks at Plaza España. The host respected everything we agreed on and was always there for me. Can't wait to return, at least as a guest

THE BEST! Awesome volunteering if you're looking for enjoying Barcelona at it's best. Really really fun and vibey. I loved a lot the team, they are sincerely really understanding and nice with the volunteers. I loved my time there and I really feel like coming back. Totally recomended 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Minha experiência com the hostel teve altos e baixos. Conheci pessoas incríveis, o que melhorou bastante a experiência, mas senti falta de um acolhimento mais humanizado. Às vezes, éramos tratados como trabalhadores gratuitos, sem muita consideração pelo que somos. A equipe tem seus favoritos, e quem não se encaixa bem acaba ficando de lado. Além disso, percebi certa falsidade no meio da cadeia de hostels, o que não contribuiu para um ambiente saudável. SAIBA QUE VOCÊ TRABALHA BASTANTE. A experiência foi válida, mas o tratamento dos voluntários poderia ser mais respeitoso, genuíno e acolhedor!
