I appreciate that the home provided us 3 meals a day and I was lucky to get my own bedroom. The work was really light and random as the olive season was over before arrival, I basically did some chores and help for cleaning the yard. If you wanna pick olives I suggest to come before November. The house is located among the hills with spectacular view of the Sicilian countryside and a bit of the sea. If you like a quiet life this is the place for you. We also got to live with visiting family members who are very friendly. Ricardo actually speaks decent English. Also prepare some warm clothes :)

Mi primer experiencia como voluntaria, francamente me gusto mucho. Fui desafiada a salir de mi zona de confort y a aprender a resolver muchas situaciones de manera cotidiana. la casa fue siempre muy generosa conmigo, no solo me abrio las puertas de su casa, tambien de su familia. Ricardo, un tanto mas reservado, siempre fue respetuoso y estuvo dispuesto a responder a mis preguntas. Esta experiencia me permitio aprender algo muy importante, cada situacion puede ser positiva o negativa, dependiendo de la actitud que uno tiene y la disposicion a aprender. Gracias la casa y Ricardo por todo!

Very happy to have visited the home's house and the island of Sicily!!. From the moment they welcomed me, the home and Ricardo made me feel part of the family. It was a fabulous experience. the home is an excellent woman who always makes sure you are well and comfortable. Ricardo's work was pleasant, always helping with whatever I needed to restore the house.

Such an incredible time with the home and Riccardo! I felt so welcomed the moment I hopped in her car right outside the train station. The work was exactly what I expected, albeit everyday was a new task! As someone who thrives on surprises and unexpected adventures it was perfect for me. I loved our family meals together and time spent chatting. I was given quite a bit of time to travel outside of the countryside into the city of Agrigento and Palermo with my time off. They were very accommodating with these excursions as they really wanted me to experience the beauty Sicily had to offer :D

I need to thank the home and Ricardo for their hospitality and ofcourse for hosting me! It was an amazing experience, the hours are respected, the home hooks you up with local food (very good!!!) and you really get immersed in the local culture… Unfortunately due to medical issues i had to leave earlier then expected, but however i enjoyed my time at their place… Grazie!!!

My experience was amazing. The work is not difficult at all if you like getting your hands dirty and enjoy a good workout. the home is so kind and always makes sure you are comfortable. Ricardo is a man of great patience considering my Italian is not very good. They make delicious food and make you feel welcome into their home. The views from the home are stunning as well. My only suggestion would be bring a pair of boots. Great experience overall!

Una gran experiencia para conocer vivir una auténtica experiencia siciliana, la casa y Riccardo fuero muy hospitalarios, la comida muy rica y se encargaron de que me sienta cómodo, el trabajo es físico pero nada demasiado exigente, recomiendo si quieres pasar unos dias en sicilia

Nuestra experiencia fue ambigua ya que al principio no nos podiamos entender mucho con la casa ya que no sabiamos italiano pero a medida que fue pasando el tiempo nos fuimos entendiendo mas y aprendiendo un poco de italiano. Las tareas fueron sencillas y las horas respetadas. Los días de recolección de olivos fueron días largos y duros pero gratificantes. Comimos juntos muchas comidas y probamos la gastronomia de sicilia. Gracias por la experiencia. Recomendado saber algo de italiano para comunicarse mejor.

Nuestra experiencia fue bien familiar y muy siciliana. Participamos en la cosecha de olivos y aprendimos sobre el trabajo en el campo y la vida local. El lugar es tranquilo y un poco alejado, pero Ángela siempre nos alcanzó a Agrigento cuando lo necesitábamos, y desde ahí te podés mover fácil en bus. Se habla principalmente italiano, así que saber un poco ayuda un montón para comunicarse mejor.

If you want to immerse your self in an Italian lifestyle, this place is for you. The work is hard but it can be rewarding to see the progress you're helping out with. The area it's s little remote but you can do some exploring if you're willing to walk a bit, and if you're flexible the host will offer you a ride to town when they are available. Meals are great, hours are respected and they are flexible about the shifts/time off. the home is a very sweet person, she makes sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. Ricardo is a guy of few words, but very nice, polite and patient.
