Programmdetails

Our animals require daily care from someone with lots of passion for animal care and animals. As well as feeding twice a day, time is also needed for general maintenance around the sanctuary as well as spending time familiarising the animals with human touch.

If you are able to commit to ensuring the safety, happiness and well-being of our rescued animals, please reach out to us. Your dedication can have a significant impact on the lives of these beautiful creatures at our sanctuary / farm stay 💙

Aktivitäten & Schichten

We are looking for volunteers who can help out around the sanctuary to take care of the animals or maintain the property.

We do have one spare car we can borrow out available. There is public transport to York town but we are 20 minutes outside of York so unless you have a car you will have to rely on being dropped off to York at prearranged times. See below for details of bus service from York.

Basic tasks include feeding animals, cleaning water troughs and living areas (lots of poop clearing involved) as well as paddock maintenance. Additional projects include helping with constructing and repairing shelters, implementing animal enrichment projects and establishing and maintaining pasture on our 200-acre property with the help of our regular 'Busy Bee' volunteers.

Since the animals take time to gain trust, and training is time consuming for management - priority will be given to volunteers who can commit to longer stays. A minimum of 1 week is required but one month is preferred and would be great for you to build connections and feel the reward of your work.

We encourage the volunteers to learn as much as they can about the daily routines so that they can take on some responsibility and work independently.

Regeln

In return for your help you will get to experience a quiet rural country lifestyle away from big towns and cities. But first and foremost, you will learn about the everyday care of our animals, as well as the nutritional and emotional requirements of the animals. Over time you will form special bonds with some of our animals as they slowly learn to read your body language and behaviour in order to trust you - and vice versa.
