I had a really good time working in the bar, the costumers were very nice, especially Vietnam people, always very kind and friendly! The comum areas are also very good, I could enjoy the pool in my free time.

We had a wonderful time in 2 weeks that we spent at the hostel in Cat Ba Vietnamese people are great, all the staff guys are nice and even the costumers that had interacted a lot seeing we are foreigners! Guys from the kitchen really rock it, they serve a lot of people and staff food is delicious The work in the bar was a mix of chill and busy times since was holiday school time, but nothing to worry about. A little more training would be nice Hope to see you guys again =)

Esse foi um dos melhores voluntariados que fizemos na vida! Ficamos 1 mês e podemos chamar o hostel de nossa casa no Vietnã. Fizemos muitos amigos lá e o trabalho foi super tranquilo, além da ótima estrutura e espaço com piscina e muitos pets. Amamos a ilha de Cat Ba que tem uma natureza muito linda e um clima muito bom.

There was a amazing experience in the hostel! The staff was great and friendly, really good experience to connect with locals and explore Cat Ba Bartender job is really chill in low season (may/25) and not at all exausting. We eat the same meals that all staff eats, so we get to know a lot of different vietnamese food, always fresh and healthy!

My stay at the hostel made my experience in Cat Ba truly wonderful. If you're thinking about going to the island, I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity. I'm very grateful to Thinh for sharing so much about Vietnamese culture and the beauty of Cat Ba, and to the staff for the delicious food.

It was a really chill and quiet experience but I still met amazing international travelers and also connected with the locals there! It was a nice “reset“ and first Worldpackers experience. The manager was really flexibel if you wanted to switch your shifts or requested days off.

Everyone here is so kind! Tinh is very welcoming, he taught me a lot about the local culture and gave me lessons on how to ride a scooter so that I could explore the island. The cooks provide simple but delicious meals and everyone eats togther like a family. The work is fun and easy, but while I was here there were very few guests so bring a good book and prepare for lots of chill time during your shift. Since it was low season it was pretty quiet, but the staff, volunteers and local residents make it a lovely place to stay.

My stay at the hostel in Cat ba was really good. It wasn't the most touristic season for this area, but the team made it very enjoyable. I enjoyed staying there and had plenty of time to discover around the island with a scooter. I loved the animals that stay around the hostel, they were very cute and friendly. Thank you for those two weeks (:
