The conditions were breakfast, lunch and dinner, so i supposed that we had to cook for everyone in our work time, not breakfast and lunch for ourselves and also sometimes dinner for everyone in our free time plus six hours of working time. The hygiene was regrettable, i've got a urinary infection because nobody cleaned the bathrooms for an entire week (the toilets had stains that disappeared when we could finally clean them) because we were busy doing the tasks the host required like chopping wood in the sun. The place was full of nettles and unsanitary wc but she kept renting it to Airbnb.

Your review is misleading and false. You did far less than agreed, and tasks were done slowly and poorly. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, never left dirty. Volunteers always have enough fresh food – asking me to buy meat at a vegan place was inappropriate and disrespectful. No one is ever forced to chop wood; it’s optional. Washing guest dishes in free time was never required. This review is dishonest, unfair, and does not reflect the reality of our project.

Three volunteers left the same day, which says a lot. My partner and I expected a good experience based on reviews, but reality was very different. We worked longer hours than agreed, did heavy and potentially dangerous tasks outside during summer like wood chopping (not listed), we were expected to work even more during our free time, and the food was minimal we had to cook it ourselves and when there was a retreat we had to eat leftovers of the guests two hours after they finished. We left after the host told us that she was frustrated because we weren't washing guest dishes in our freetime.

The community was my first volunteer experience and it was pretty nice: I improved my physical and mental health thanks to eating vegetarian products and staying far away from the city noise. Furthermore I practiced English and German.
