We are a registered charity, housed in a beautiful English medieval manor with an ancient courtyard and a magnificent timbered Great Hall, dating from the 13th century. It is situated in extensive grounds where deer roam freely and where squirrels run up and down trees.
Over the past 40 years the charity has run a range of group activities including retreats and other spiritual events, lectures, concerts, yoga classes, creative workshops, etc.

Aktivitäten & Schichten

We are currently looking for a competent and experienced volunteer who could cook for the volunteer resident team but also give a hand in the kitchen when we are hosting guests. The Abbey is a vegetarian place and we are trying as much as possible to grow our own vegetables in our beautiful walled garden. We would love to have someone also interested by what we are trying to achieve in the garden with our small team of local volunteers. As a volunteer cook, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests, volunteers and visitors.

Regeln

We expect volunteers to help 25 hours per week. But please note that we are expecting from our volunteers to help with whatever is needed rather than what they want to do.

As an international volunteer, please note that you can only volunteer for up to 30 days for a registered charity in the UK. You must have a good understanding of spoken English as you will have a lot of interactions with guests and visitors.

For UK nationals or people with the settled status, you can stay at the Abbey for up to 3 months. Subject to a 2 weeks trial period.
