Where to even begin. I spent a month at the farm and wish I could have stayed longer. Both Åshild and Gisle are absolute gems! The hours are well respected, and you will always get back any extra hours you work. The volunteer house is so much fun, and I am so grateful to the other volunteers who were there at the same time as me, they really amplified the experience! Being at the farm whilst there was snow was absolutely magical! I cannot recommend this experience enough if you are open minded and can handle a bit of chaos - a chaotically wonderful experience I will never forget!

Overall I had an incredible seven weeks at Myklivik the farm. Gisle and Åshild were lovely hosts. The work was varied, but mostly cooking, cleaning and harvesting on the farm. The volunteer house was a really cozy and fun environment. Staying here was an incredible way to experience Lofoten, and the balance of work and free time is good. At times the farm felt a bit disorganized and messy, however if you can handle that everything else about my stay was really lovely.

I had a great time at the farm. Åshild, Gisle, and the whole family were really nice and attentive. I absolutely enjoyed experiencing the Christmas period with them. The working hours and free time were well-balanced, with plenty of opportunities to learn new things and then enjoy the rest of the day. Lofoten has amazing nature, so it was great to explore it with the other volunteers.

I did not feel welcome by the hosts and the tasks were against my values. The other voulnteers were amazing and made my stay as nice as possible. They assured me my arrival was the worst time to join the farm and they all love being there. I truly belive them and maybe it just was bad timing for me..
