Long-term volunteer (6+ months) in animal rescue center/sanctuary
Das Erlebnis
We are looking for a long-term volunteer who wants to be a steady part of our project and help us with the maintenance of the sanctuary for a period of 6 months or longer . We are an animal sanctuary in the middle of the desert. We rescue any kind of animal and give them a chance to be happy and loved. The position contains daily feeding, cleaning and caring for the 200+ animals, maintenance of shared living spaces, and some construction work.

Was Sie bekommen
2 freie Tage pro Woche
Gemeinschaftszimmer: Du bekommst ein Bett in einem Gemeinschaftszimmer, was bedeutet, dass du dir den Raum mit anderen Reisenden teilst.
Team dorm: Du bekommst ein Bett in einem Gemeinschaftszimmer, was bedeutet, dass du dir den Raum mit anderen Personen teilst.
Frühstück: Du hast Anspruch auf ein kostenloses Frühstück an jedem Tag deines Aufenthalts.
Mittagessen: Du hast Anspruch auf ein kostenloses Mittagessen an jedem Tag deines Aufenthalts.
Abendessen: Du hast Anspruch auf ein kostenloses Abendessen an jedem Tag deines Aufenthalts.
Nutze unsere ausgestattete Küche: Nutze gerne unsere Küche und bereite dein eigenes leckeres Essen zu.
Grundlegender Internetzugang: Internet mit Grundgeschwindigkeit, damit du remote arbeiten kannst

Programmdetails
We rely on the help of our volunteers to be able to take good care of the more than 200 rescued animals living at the place. We are happy to welcome people who are willing to be responsible members of our community, truly care for our animals well-being, and at the same time can accept that resources and opportunities in a growing project with no governmental support are sometimes limited and we have to improvise with what we got.
The daily tasks are feeding, cleaning, and giving water to the animals inside and outside of the house. If there is time left after these basic tasks, we are happy for every kind of participation to the maintenance or growth of the project, such as some construction works to improve the living situation of animals and humans, for example. Working hours are 9am-13pm, and 5/6pm-6/7pm, with 2 days off per week. Some flexibility required for emergencies.
Aktivitäten & Schichten
Giving food and water to animals inside the house and outside in their living spaces.
Cleaning the animals living spaces.
Cleaning and maintenance of house and surroundings.
Building and repairing of animal spaces.
Taking part in community life, e.g. preparing meals.
Regeln
Changes of plans/dates must be communicated at least 2 weeks in advance.
We do a 4 weeks probation period for long-term volunteering.
Experience with volunteering and working with animals required for this position.
No drugs allowed at our place.
We are smokers.
