I had the most amazing experience staying with Bhante Wasa and the other Monks. It's actually hard to describe with just a few words what you can experience. I learned so much about Sri Lankan Culture, Buddhism and the daily life of a monk in Sri Lanka! I loved the daily Q&A sessions. any question was allowed and answered. And there was so much more you have to figure out by yourself :) Certainly the highlight of my whole trip! Thank you!

Fue una experiencia inolvidable, muy enriquecedora y que sin duda volvería a repetir! Estoy muy contenta y agradecida de haber podido formar parte de este programa. Conecté con la naturaleza y también con los locales, fui a la escuela del pueblo y pude jugar y enseñar a los niños, los cuáles son muy educados, respetuosos y risueños, también medité, y me enseñaron varias cosas sobre el budismo.

We spent two unforgettable weeks at Sammajeewa the Center, warmly welcomed by the bhantes whose kindness and wisdom made us feel at home. Meditating together, learning about Buddhism, and visiting temples gave us deep insight. Teaching English at local schools was rewarding and joyful. Surrounded by nature, the Center offered peace, reflection, and growth. The food was fresh and delicious. This experience was profoundly meaningful, and we are deeply grateful.

Our 14-day stay at Sammajeewa the Center was life-changing. Every day was full of learning the Center philosophy, practicing meditation, meaningful trips, and being closely guided by Bhante Subbhodi. The real highlight was volunteering — helping at dhamma ceremonies, serving food, cooking, cleaning, and teaching at local schools. It was where we truly practiced kindness and metta in action. This retreat combines spiritual growth, hands-on volunteering, and rich cultural experiences. If you want a meaningful, transformative experience, Sammajeewa is the perfect place.

I can't describe how amazing my experience was. In the morning, you usually go to a local school where you can spend time with the kids and teach them some english. This is an amazing experience because everyone is very welcoming and kind! In the afternoon there are some walks through the village, temple visits or ceremonys. Everyone in the temple is extremly kind, welcoming and open for good talks❤️ I learned so much in only 3 days and definitely left with a heart full of joy and gratefulness

I'm so happy I decided to join this volunteer project during my first two days in Sri Lanka—it was such a great choice! It gave me a super real and hands-on experience of the local culture. I got to hang out with local students, cook traditional Sri Lankan food, meditate on big rocks, and join peaceful chanting sessions in the evening. Bhante and his team were really kind and flexible—they never packed the schedule too tightly and always checked in with how me and the other volunteer were feeling. I honestly loved every meal they made.

My stay in the Center was something extraordinary. All the monks were very helpful and caring and made sure we can experience the local culture. I learned something about buddhism, met locals, attended ceremonies, a dance class, tried local food and much more. For the work we visited schools and chatted with kids, played games and overall taught them some english. I felt welcomed and respected at this place and I highly recommend:)

My four days here were amazing. All the Bhantes that live here are super friendly and helpful. It is a great way to get an insight look on Buddhism and local life. I would recommend it 100% 🙏🏼
