Programmdetails

Your daily tasks will revolve around redesigning and optimizing our existing website. The role includes:

You’ll improve its aesthetic appeal, navigation, and user experience, making it easier for visitors to learn about our hostel, check availability, and book their stay.
Content Integration: Work with our team to incorporate new content (photos, videos, descriptions) into the website, ensuring that it aligns with our brand image and appeals to potential guests.
SEO and Optimization: Implement basic SEO strategies, ensuring the website is optimized for search engines to increase our visibility.
Feature Enhancements: Update or add key features such as an events page, booking system, and contact forms, making the website more functional and user-friendly.

Aktivitäten & Schichten

You’ll help for approximately 16 hours per week Mon - Friday (this is flexible), giving you ample time to explore the city. We offer flexibility in scheduling; you can work on your own time as long as progress is consistent. We expect a balance between delivering high-quality work and enjoying your time in Dar Es Salaam.

Regeln

Commitment: We ask for a minimum stay of 2 weeks to allow you enough time to complete the website revamp. Longer stays are welcome if you're interested in continuing to support other digital initiatives.
Professionalism: While the atmosphere in our hostel is relaxed, we expect you to maintain a professional approach to your work.
Independence: You will have creative control over the website design, but we expect you to work independently and proactively. Regular check-ins with the team will ensure alignment, but you should be self-sufficient in managing your time and tasks.
Respect: Our hostel is a communal environment with guests from all walks of life. We expect volunteers to respect the space, the guests, and the local culture.
Cleanliness: Volunteers are expected to maintain cleanliness in common areas and respect hostel rules regarding quiet hours and shared spaces.
