Be a Helping Hand in Horse Care and Guest Experiences
Das Erlebnis
Horsemanship skills are key: basic veterinary care, recognizing when shoes need changing, handling multiple horses, and understanding nutrition. Staff will help polish these skills. The work involves lots of riding, so riding fitness is essential. Tasks include grooming, tack care, feeding, and field management. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are a must. Volunteers may assist on tours, helping with guest needs, baggage, and equipment.

Horsemanship skills are key
- basic veterinary skills
- recognizing when shoes need to be changed
- ability to handle multiple horses at once
- understanding nutrition and basic medical care
(Staff are very willing to help polish these skills.)
The work consists of a lot of riding in-between tours. You can spend a full day riding so best if you are riding fit. All of the horses have individual characters and are in different stages of training, and so some schooling may be required – depending on applicants skills.
Other tasks include:
- grooming
- taking care of the tack
- field management
- feeding and basic veterinary care
The work is varied and days can be long; only people with a “can-do” attitude, flexibility and willingness to get stuck in to any task need apply!
In addition to farm responsibilities, volunteers have a possibility to be able to come along on the horse riding tours as
an assistant guide. During the riding tours, in addition to riding, you may be required to: help move guest baggage, horse
feed and other equipment; make picnic lunches; and deal with any requirements the guests may have.
Manuals, checklists and training are provided to support you. There is a lot to learn, but we will help you out along the way.
