Come Help us at our Finca in Utuado, Puerto Rico
Das Erlebnis
We are looking for 1 to 3 people to help us maintaining the farm. We have 40 acres of mountainous jungle and have planted around 500 fruit trees on paths and flat areas. We need help passing line trimmer, lawn mower, machete around trees. We also need help pruning fruit trees and wild trees growing around them to open up sun, this could be with scissor or chain saw. Also gardening, weeding, transplanting, harvesting and processing crops

Programmdetails
We have a large tent next to the creek with two twin beds and two cots for volunteers. It has a cold shower. We have a large guest kitchen you will share with guests. There is solor power, spring water, wifi, yoga space, instruments, compost toilet and fully equipped kitchen there. We ask for 20 hours of work a week in exchange for food and stay. We provide the ingredients for you to cook and will usually cook a meal once a day for volunteers. We only occasionally host volunteers and prefer to receive friends or couples so volunteers aren't lonely and can work together. Farm work is physically taxing so it's important you are fit and enjoy physical labor. It can be hot and itchy work with lots of bending and heavy lifting. If you are a nature lover our farm is an incredibly beautiful tropical rainforest paradise.
Aktivitäten & Schichten
We are flexible as far as the schedule. If you are working with us we usually start around 11am for a few hours. If you are working alone you can make your own schedule as long as you do 20 hours a week.
Regeln
We have two spots we rent out to guests so it's important that the communal kitchen is always clean and tidy and that you are respectful of guests space if they are there (not being loud or messy). We have 4 dogs and 2 cats and 30 chickens. We cannot host pets because our dogs are very territorial. They are friendly and loving but bark a lot so it's important you are not afraid of dogs.
