I really enjoyed my time volunteering with Yachira and helping her and Yani with the tasks and projects that needed to be done. They have been really wonderful. I volunteered and stayed for 2 weeks and honestly wish I wouldve stayed longer as it wasn't enough. I would definitely come back again and help out. I've learned alot during my time here and It was a great experience exploring Cuba and it's culture. Yachira has been a great host to work with and enjoyed her showing me around Habana and arranging trips to see the rest of Cuba. Overall, it's been a great experience! Thanks Yachira!

This three-week stay at La Cacaoterra farm was incredible! I discovered places I never even knew existed! The farm itself is a beautiful project! And Yanis and Yachira made me feel right at home with their great tips. I highly recommend it!:)

Yachira and Yani were incredible hosts. We stayed with Yani and Tony and their lovely son, Anthony. They were caring, welcoming and good hearted people. We had delicious food made by Yani, greta conversations with Tony and played with the energetic Anthony ! Yachira was always happy to help organise anything we needed and was generous with her time and effort into making our stay comfortable. La Cacaotera is an incredible project, started by Yani after she experienced food shortages during covid- I have deep respect for the dedication of everyone here. I painted the sign on the outside !

Estar con Yachira y Yeyé ha sido una de las experiencias más increíbles que he vivido en mucho tiempo. No tienes nada de qué preocuparte: ellas se encargan de todo y te cuidan en cada momento. Yachira es una anfitriona perfecta; disfrutar de La Habana como lo haces con ella es imposible de otra manera. Te llevará a todos los lugares imprescindibles, te ayudará con los taxis y con todo lo que necesites. Yeyé es una cocinera excepcional, ¡sus platos son deliciosos! La Cacaotera es un lugar genial, especialmente si conoces la historia de su evolución. Ha sido una experiencia inolvidable!.

Con respeto a todos los q ofrecen lo mismo en la Habana, no creo q haya mejor lugar q la casa, te hacen sentir q es tu casa, el trabajo es tranquilo y muy lindo de hacer. Son muy cálidas en su recibimiento y trato, la casa es muy hermosa y limpia, la ubicación excelente. En fin, no solo lo recomiendo como experiencia en la Habana, sino q volveré sin dudas. Muchas gracias a la casa por este tiempo tan lindo q pase en Cuba, inolvidable, en parte por ustedes!!

Mi experiencia en la casa fue un placer!! Muchísimas gracias a Yashira y Jeje por compartir conmigo los valores de los cubanos y el sazón que ustedes tienen. Me encantó mi experiencia en la Habana gracias a estas dos personas excepcionales!! La cocina de Jeje es la mejor en toda la isla y las vibras de Yashira también!! Gracias por mostrarme los buenos lugares de la Habana y por cuidarme como familia. La Habana en el corazón (cuba no1 por siempre). Los quiero muchísimo, nos vemos pronto cuídense amigas xxx

Shira and her mom Yeye are simply the perfect hosts. Shira really cares for you and she is always ready to show you around or give you some advices in Habana, which can be a difficult city to navigate in as a foreigner. Yeye is a loving and warm mom, always smiling and giving loving vibes. You will feel completely safe and as in home. Only difference will be that you will have the taste of the original, authentic Cuban lifestyle.

The guest house is an incredible place to stay. Yachira and Regla are wonderful and very accomodating, as well as being around often to show you more of Havana and help you make trips out to the rest of the island. I couldn't recommend the guest house' house more. The work is practically non existent and the daily fee makes sense when considering the SIM card, the food, the rent, etc that is necessary when travelling to Cuba. Furthermore the room is beautiful and has a balcony and private bathroom. The tourism in Cuba is non-existent and tricky, so without Yachira it would have been impossible to enjoy it.

Mi experiencia en la casa fue maravillosa, mejor de lo que pensé. Shira y su familia me hicieron sentir en casa, estuvieron pendientes de mí todo el tiempo. Hubo un intercambio cultural constante en donde pude aprender mucho de la labor que realiza Shira como artista y de la cultura cubana. Volvería a este lugar sin pensarlo. Me hicieron muy feliz 😊💜
