My volunteering experience in El Paredón was very good. Nery is an excellent host, very kind, flexible with schedules, and always willing to help. The work is not hard at all, even though the shift is six hours, the actual work usually takes only about one and a half hours, and at most two to two and a half hours. The hostel is very calm and relaxed. It is a bit away from the center, but that actually makes it more peaceful, and it's not a problem since the walk to the center is only about 8-12 minutes. The atmosphere is great, and people in El Paredón are generally very friendly.

I really enjoyed my time volunteering at this hostel. It's just a five minute walk from the sea, perfect to see sunrise and sunset every day. The hostel is super chill, perfekt to relax and easy to meet new people. The work is not to complicated, a lot if is just being available in case Guests need your help. I would totally recommend volunteering here

J'ai vraiment passé du bon temps à Backpacker! C'est l'endroit parfait pour profiter del Paredon. L'auberge n'est pas située près des “party hostel” mais c'est à distance de marche. C'est donc possible d'aller fêter, sans que la musique vous garde éveillé toute la nuit. C'est une petite auberge, ce qui permet de rencontrer tous les voyageurs. Ce n'est pas l'endroit le plus propre ou récent, mais c'est quand même très confortable et accueillant. On y vit la parfaite petite vie de plage tranquille parsemée de soirées bien arrosées.

My volunteering experience was very chill and easy. Nery, the host was amazing. He was very flexible with working times. I could do my tasks whenever I wanted, unless they really needed to be done. He was also very communicative and friendly. I was there for one month and for the first three weeks I was actually almost completely alone (off-season and Nery trusted me with the hostel). I usually swept the main area and guest rooms, looked after the pool and welcomed guests at the reception. It's really not much. I got all the food needed and could make it whenever I wanted.

Great experience at El Paredon, it's like being on summer vacation. The hostel is quiet and less than 5 minutes from the beach. You're also ten minutes from the party spots. The shifts are really easy and you'll meet other volunteers too :) The use of kayaks and surfboards is free!

It was an amazing experience. the hostel is a small and cozy hostel 10 minutes away from all the party scene, so pretty chill. The tasks were easy and fair and were explained to me really well. Normally you have two to three other volunteers staying there at the same time with you, so you get every fourth day off. Would recommend it to everybody who wants to stay in a chill place, connecting with locals and just enjoy hostel life.

Volunteering at Backpacker was nice ! Communication was sometimes a bit irregular (taking into consideration that Nery is juggling between two jobs, I can understand why), but if you have a strong sense of autonomy, and you like surfing/the oceans/parties in social hostels, El Paredon is the place for you :) The tasks at the hostel are rather easy to manage and the place is cosy ☀️ (something not mentioned in the position is : you can rent surfboards from another hostel for free ! 🏄)
