Garrawe is a special place it attracts special people. There is always work to be done and projects to manage but just as often there are events to participate in or nature to explore. If creature comforts are your main interest then I wouldn't recommend coming but if you want to learn about permaculture or build lasting friendships and explore nature then this is the place for you.

My time at Gaarawé is something I will hold near to my heart forever. The location is beautiful- there's a view of the mountains on the road down and in many spots around the village. There's a river at the end of the village we would swim in everyday after working. The mornings start with the melody of the jungle and in the evenings you get to fall asleep to the hum of your friends/community. The work is enjoyable- lots of gardening and building. The food was yummy and fresh. Lele has many neat ideas for his village and it was a treat to be able to contribute to his dream. 10/10 recommend ❤️

The experience I had at this village was really special! The days went by so quickly yet it felt like I knew everyone I met there forever. The work is great once you get to understand the hosts way of thinking and how he allows you to manage your own time! All in all I had a wonderful time learned a lot and most importantly made many new friends. I can recommend it to anyone that wants an experience close to nature and a slow way of living ;)

It was an incredible experience. I spent almost one month in this village full of love and great energy. My group was very close, and we were always doing different activities. Having the river in the backyard brought so much fun. The work was very relaxed, and Lele is a great host — very flexible, with excellent food. I highly recommend it.

1000% recommend. I stayed at Gaarawé for 7 days and wished I could have stayed longer. Sleeping in bamboo bungalows in the jungle, with crickets at night and chickens in the morning, was magical. The food is fresh, healthy, and mostly from their own garden. The volunteer work was hands-on and creative, and there was plenty of time to slow down, swim in the river, and connect with the amazing people. Lele is an inspiring host, the family is incredibly kind, and this place truly shows how little you need to feel fulfilled. I hope to come back soon🥹

The host is a kind man.The helpers who stay long or have been there many times will understand. However, for first time helpers, it may be difficult to understand the start time of meals, the nature of the work, and schdule afterwards. Half day work,so we have half day free time, but we have to decide our plan ourselves. This means we can't use effecttively unless you have bike or something. Sorry for being harsh.I hope this will be a good environment for the next helper. Because of my english skill, I can't ask, that makes worse. Anyway, that is good experience to stay bamboo house!

Staying at Lele is all you can wish from a volunteering project: you meet a lot of fun and interesting people, you can learn new practical things (cutting bamboo, making clay, etc), work is as demanding as you wish, flexible hours. Food is great and fulfilling, freshly cooked daily. It is a very relaxed, sociable and welcoming place. You cannot miss this experience!!

A very relaxing environment with nature around. I loved sleeping in a bamboo hut. It was good to see how you can practice permaculture and the sustainable life in your everyday life. Lele is a very passionate man who cares about nature the way everybody should, very inspiring. Tub and Jum who is working there are loveley people. Communication could be approved but it was a very good experience that I would recommend for others.

I stayed at the eco village for 5 days, and it is such a beautiful farm. The host, Lele, has quite a loud voice, but once you get used to it, you realize he is a very lovely and kind-hearted person. He truly cares for the farm and is practicing permaculture in his daily life. Most of the food served on the farm comes directly from it, and there is clean drinking water and food available. The chef, June, cooks delicious meals—she can turn simple ingredients into dishes full of flavor and variety. I truly love this farm. My gratitude goes to Lele, his two dogs Bruno and Nina, June, and her husband
