Aktivitäten & Schichten

Looking after Riza will consist of walking her for 10-20mins/day and feeding her twice a day. Please only apply if you have experience with reactive dogs, and let us know about this experience:))

Another part of this volunteer position is just generally looking after her well-being, checking in on her, tucking her into a nice blanket when she looks cold, letting her follow you around everywhere once she warms up to you, giving her extra comfort during storms (she is scared of heavy rain and thunder and likes to be around her comfort people) and becoming her person.

Riza has arthritis so she can not walk as much as what would make her happy anymore, which means we have to keep her entertained in different ways, such as using her brain instead of her body(snuffle mats, trick training, sniffing games, etc). Any new ideas are welcome:)

Regeln

Riza does not like other animals so we look for a volunteer with experience with reactive dogs, as she may pull or bark when she sees another dog if she feels you are insecure on the other end of her leash. With a confident handler, she is perfect to pass by other dogs, only gets a bit excited when she sees a cat. So to ensure that both you and her are happy on walks, please only apply if you have some experience.

Our hostel is a vegetarian hostel so we also ask both guests and volunteers to not bring any meat inside.
