It's a pleasure to be at Dar Hamadi, a peaceful and open space for ideas and exchanges. I've had contact with local people, discovered the local cuisine, the house is very well located, and there are great cafes in the area. Shams is a wonderful and very attentive host <3

Bea has adopted our rules on board and she is now part of the crew. She's as welcome as a member of the family. She takes care of the house and welcomes new members. Unfortunately, being abroad, we haven't yet had the pleasure to meet in person, but our conversations have been invaluable.

Unfortunately I hadn't the opportunity to meet ShAmS personally, but we had effective remote communication,I think he's a brilliant person. During my stay I totally embraced the self-management approach. So that I have been stimulated to find something useful to do as volunteer and to valorise my free time in order to enjoy the Tunis attractions. I experienced satisfaction in matching my objectives. I dealt with housekeeping.

My experience at Dar Hamadi was great! Shams gives you a lot of freedom in what tasks you want to do. The work is independent and you can choose your hours, which leaves a lot of flexibility to do activities in the city. Unfortunately I did not get to meet Shams as he was on mission in Paris, but we stayed in touch and he is very kind and flexible. I had to leave early, and he completely understood. I would definitely recommend an experience here :)

I had a good time volunteering at Chams' place. He and Souma are great people, easygoing and always willing to help. The self-management concept of the house allows flexibility to explore Tunis - which is beautiful! It's a safe and pleasant area to stay. Meals are often shared, you do your own grocery shopping and when cooking it's a good practice to ask if others want to join. Initially I had some trouble sleeping in the pink room due to the thin mattress, but Chams helped me out providing a new mattress! I truly appreciate their support and hospitality!

Volunteering at the host was a great experience and I highly recommend for those who wants to improve self-management and social skills, because you'll be part of a coliving where there's no hierarchy and a lot of individuals will come and go. It's a great place to exercise sense of community, respecting boundaries while sharing space, food, experiences and whatever you can offer. I loved working in the garden and cooking together - it was a fun time and I will remember all members I met during my stay there. A big thanks to Chems and Souma for this experience!

Nossa segunda vez e espero que tenham aceitado terceira, quarta... O Shems é um anfitrião incrível. Pessoas de várias nacionalidades passam por the host e não tem nenhum voluntário que pense diferente do quanto a gente se sente muito a vontade, alegre e em harmonia. Uma verdadeira família, um verdadeiro lar. Além disso, a Tunísia é incrivelmente bela❤️🇹🇳🙏

If I had to sum up this experience in one sentence, I'd say that my time at Cham's in the host was the utopia I had always dreamed of as a chef: Being respected as a woman Being treated with kindness Working in a peaceful environment that is a 100% SAFE PLACE for women Cooking with garden-fresh ingredients Not being forced into a rigid management style (here, it's horizontality or nothing 🫶🏽) or nothing 🫶🏽) Non-violent verbal communication Regaining confidence in myself Developing my adaptability Healing from past traumas in the kitchen Being happy AND a chef Rebuilding my self-esteem

Agradecemos essa oportunidade. Amamos os dias que ficamos em the host. Tinham pessoas da França, Turquia, Portugal, Líbano…E juntos formávamos uma família. Chems e Souna são muito legais e nos deixam bastante à vontade. Indicamos a todos ter essa experiência em the host, nós inclusive, temos planos de voltar. Tunes é bem intensa e os tunisianos são carismáticos de mais. o país é encantador.

Nous avons vécu une merveilleuse expérience dans une maison pleine d'amour et de bonne énergie. Tous ceux qui étaient présents en même temps étaient sympathiques, attentifs et joyeux. Chems et Souma sont incroyables. Nous recommandons fortement cette expérience. Nous voyageons actuellement à travers le pays et sommes de plus en plus enchantés par chaque endroit que nous visitons. La Tunisie est un pays merveilleux. Mais nous prévoyons de revenir pour une autre période avec Chems. Obrigada ❤️
