Fantastic experience that I'd recommend to any traveler with a genuine interest in teaching. The job brought the right type of co-teachers that you want to hang out with, and the location was fantastic for immersing in local culture (though required some time and work to reach other parts of the city, worth it though in my opinion).

The absolute best experience for all who would like to be a part of a vibrant local community, gain experience in teaching English, form unforgettable relationships with locals and truly see the impact you make and gratitude they show! The living environment is great, the group always helps and welcomes everyone new, going out or planning programs are always for all! Definitely recommend to be a part of it! It's truly a home away from home!

I had such a wonderful month in Rio thanks to the hostel, where I met some amazing friends and made great memories! The house is lovely and chill with a great view and a friendly atmosphere, and the work is not overwhelming and allows time for you to relax or explore the city on your days off. I felt really welcomed and I would recommend this experience 😊

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and going to Rio to help at the hostel was one of the best decisions I ever made!! The people I met there will forever stay close to my heart <3 Victor, James and Lydia did their best job at providing a comfortable environment in the house and also at the school, to say the least. It's also a great opportunity to make a real change in people's life's when you're teaching English at the school. Adding to those things, it's also in a great location, safety wise and also close to the best beaches in Rio.

I really enjoyed every moment at the hostel. This was my first world packers experience. I met amazing people, and it really felt like a family. I appreciate James and Larry and the rest of the gente at the hostel 💚 for creating such a nurturing environment. You will be immersed in Brazilian culture and get to experience the local culture around you. Working with the children is awesome, they are energetic and eager to learn! Also it is close to some of the best beaches in Rio! It was an amazing experience and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a fun, life changing experience.🇧🇷

The exérience at eschola the hostel was one I will never forget. The program gives you the oppurtunity to make real change within society and gives you a real life look at how most of Rio lives. Through the school, I was able to face challenges, establish connections, and learn about other people's lives that were so vastly different than my own.

Si buscas sumergirte en la cultura local y crear un impacto social, este voluntariado es para ti. La gente a la que le enseñas inglés es muy entusiasta y están constantemente buscando mejorar, los alumnos son personas encantadoras. El programa ya lleva un tiempo, por lo que podrás notar como algunos de sus alumnos han avanzado y ya tienen un muy buen nivel! Son personas muy esforzadas. Y el voluntariado es tal cual como se explica en la descripción, se respeta todo. Gracias chicos por hacerme parte! (;

The hostel and the Host James will take you to a next level Rio de Janeiro experience. Mainly due to his commitment on making activities go smooth and intellectually challeging aswell. I stayed at Santa teresa for the social entrepreneurship program. We created a food brand concept and implemented it in a span of four weeks, all for Pedro, a local from vidigal. It was challenging but also easygoing due to the house we stayed, the activities we did in between work and the people involved. Great experience !

My first volunteer experience in South America at this hostel has been nothing short of amazing. The people here are incredible, quickly becoming like family to me. The work was not only interesting but also rewarding, allowing me to connect with locals and contribute positively to their experience. The hostel itself is a cozy haven, offering breathtaking views that have made every moment here unforgettable. I'm in awe of everything - from the warmth of the community to the beauty of the surroundings.
